I wasn't the only one alone in the house that night, the mummy was there also. It was locked in my dad's experiment office.
Dad had told me never to enter his experiment office severally and I always wondered why. If he didn't want me to see what he did in the room then how was I supposed to become a doctor just like him??
The previous day I had heard dad talking with his colleague, "Dianna" about a mummy they had just discovered and he was going to have a long day doing an experiment on it.
I had never seen a mummy before, but I do hear about it during my history classes. The eagerness to open the office heightened.
I slowly stood up from my bed, and I Carried my doll "cherry", she was my only companion when mom went on her numerous church journeys and when dad was at the hospital. I slowly walked through the corridor leading to the office.
Opening the door it made a squiky sound, I looked inside and was amazed by the things I saw.
I looked around wondering where the "mummy" was, then I saw something in the shape of a human wrapped in an old white bandage, It laid asif lifeless not moving.
A strange feeling of fear gripped me as suddenly the light went out.
Terrified, I ran to the door and found out it was locked. I desperately tried the door handle asif my life depended on it, but it wouldn't open.
I heard murmuring behind me, I held unto cherry tightly, as I turned to see what was behind me.
There it was right behind me with a mysterious smile on its face.
