There's Just Something
Born 2011, F, from Jackson, United StatesI walked through the halls of Greenwood High, my heart pounding against my ribcage like a rebellious drummer in a rock concert. Today was my first day at this new school, and I couldn't help but feel a mix of nervousness and excitement. Everything seemed so unfamiliar, yet so full of possibilities.
As I walked past a group of giggling girls, my attention was inexplicably drawn to a boy standing by his locker. His name was Devin, and he had jet-black hair that framed his confident smile. He exuded an aura of coolness that made my heart skip a beat, and before I realized it, I found myself walking towards him.
"Hey, I'm Ayesha." I greeted him, trying my best to sound confident.
Devin turned towards me with a surprised expression. "Hey, Ayesha. Nice to meet you."
We started talking, and I soon found out that he had a girlfriend named Janice. My heart sank like a lead weight in my chest. But as quickly as the information reached my ears, I heard whispers in the corridors about Devin and Janice's sudden and tumultuous breakup.
I couldn't understand why I felt a sense of relief mixed with guilt. I didn't want anyone to be hurt, especially not because of me. But the feeling in my heart only grew stronger as Devin and I spent more time together.
It didn't take long for me to notice Janice's icy stares directed at us. Her envy was palpable, like a storm brewing beneath her poker face. Janice wasted no time in making my life a living hell, spreading rumors and whispering threats.
But Devin and I refused to let her toxic presence ruin our newfound happiness. We laughed, holding hands as we walked through the hallways, our love cocooned in a protective bubble.
One day, as Janice cornered me between lockers, her eyes filled with venom, I looked at her with pity. "Janice, why can't you let go? Love isn't about possessing someone, it's about allowing them to be happy."
Janice's eyes narrowed, and she hissed, "You won't be happy for long."
But as those words left her lips, I saw a glimmer of realization in her eyes. Love, true love, couldn't be fought with hatred and jealousy. It could only be nurtured with kindness and understanding.
And so, as the days turned into weeks,
