Labradorite
Born 2006, F, from London, United KingdomThe beach is getting darker
as we walk down towards the bay.
I am holding his hand, watching his hair
dance in the dying light of the day.
I can't help myself and reach out
To feel the silk of his blonde hair
It feels like the nothingness,
as it shines in the arctic ocean-air.
He looks at me and smiles
His teeth like ivory marble,
And his eyes like labradorite
Hiding their deep blue sparkle.
I cry in utter silence and I smile,
As the sun dives into the ocean
And disappears under its infinity
Melting the horizon in slow motion.
I look at him and he touches my face
My tears meld into his opaque body
And I ask him: Did you get enough love?
But he cannot hear me anymore.
So I just watch him walk into the waves
Emerging into his labradorite grave
And I scream so the ocean echoes
But he cannot hear me anymore.
He cannot hear me anymore.
