Blade

Blade
Author's note... Story is written in similar format as One Magical Night, in the format of one word, then two words and so on....
There's a serial killer on the loose... or is something more sinister happening? Homicide Detective Dick Miers has been assigned to investigate...

Blade

Blade
deadly weapon

Cold
silver steel
serrated or smooth

Grip
in hand
without any fault
for slashing, stabbing pleasure.

Hunts
without warning.
Watching, silently watching.
Awaiting the kill thrill
Rush of pure uncensored adrenaline

It
silently awaits
warm unsuspecting flesh.
The young, and foolish
think they are spared unharmed.
Till, suddenly without warning it strikes.

Death
is unleashed.
Penetration is deep.
Flesh angrily rips apart.
Spewing warm crimson blood outward.
Life slowly drains from its victim.
Its body left to live no more.

“Body”
“Found dead.”
“Twenty-year-old.”
“Female, name yet unknown.”
“Murdered by slash to neck.”
“Detective Dick Miers on the scene.”
“Evidence is collected pertaining to the crime.”
“Tune into the eleven o'clock news for updates.”

Unaware
that death
is quickly approaching.
Incoherently she stumbles along.
She's enticing to Blade's edge.
She knows not where she's at.
This is a crucial benefit to Blade.
Unbeknownst to her, she'll be caught off guard.
Blade's silvery smoothness will get the best of her.

Predator
game play
after its prey.
Knife dripping with blood.
Not hers but will be.
The silver Blade shows no mercy.
Like a Viper strikes with deadly force
bringing immense pain followed by an unforgiving death.
The thrill exhilarates, Blade rams deep into the jugular.
Warm blood seductively covers Blade's firmness slowly cascading freely downward.

Nineteen
year old
found in park.
Fatal stab to jugular.
Daughter of Judge Margaret Ducon.
Immediate autopsy performed by court order.
newspapers report cause of death by stabbing.
Homicide detectives will take full charge of investigation
lead by Dick Miers, the best in the business.
He's the best they have and likes to work alone.
He has some questionable tactics, doesn't always go by the book

Blood
Need blood.
Been too long.
Blade is getting restless.
The bitter voice inside speaks.
It must kill, it must feed.
“Kill! Blade must Kill! Kill now! NOW!
Blade stalks, hungrily looking for its intended prey.
It hunts in complete solitude, stalking in the night.
It shows no remorse, pity, or sorrow for its victims.
The need to kill is intensifying, growing rapidly out of control.
The burning pleasure of the kill is all that matters to Blade.

Another
victim emerges.
Blade is ready.
It stands firmly strong.
Dried blood speckles the knife.
It's steel glows in the moonlight.
Ready to pounce in a split second.
Epinephrine is spiking for this final effortless kill.
There will be no pleading from the unsuspected encounter.
Hands in the air the drunken stranger staggers toward Blade.
Blade tears through muscle and tissue rendering its victim totally helpless.
It knows the fragile part of the anatomy it needs to strike.
Its stabs are lethal and deadly imposing the final thrust into vital organs.

Homeless
bearded man
Homer Joe Wilson,
As he is known
walks these streets every night.
His destination, Back Door Party Store
where he purchases his bottles of wine.
Found under a streetlight dead shortly after midnight.
Detective Miers is again promptly called on the case.
He quickly rules out robbery, because there's nothing to take.
It was later determined victim died of deep multiple gut stabbings.
Victim bled out profusely mostly due to puncture of the abdominal aorta.
Three killings in seven days, we have a serial killer on our hands.
Homicide Detective Miers is intent on apprehending the killer before another senseless murder occurs.

The
best is
yet to come.
A pure godly victim.
Her clothing of choice inhibits.
She thinks her Habit protects her.
How appropriately fitting for her appending death.
Kneeling, she soothingly caresses the Rosary's wooden cross.
Blade stands vigilant as she whispers her Hale Mary's.
It approaches creeping as a cat toward an unsuspecting bird.
Ready to dive for the kill at precisely the right moment.
Blade's sharpness is enhanced, for this kill will be his most precious.
Its victims have never suffered long, he always went for the straight kill.
But to Blade, she's different, he wants/needs her to suffer unrelenting excruciating pain.
With brittle force Blade stabs her in the back then with a swift blow decapitates.

On
the steps
of a church
lies a lifeless body
covered in warm crimson blood.
Onlookers are aghast at the sight.
Officers work diligently at controlling the curious,
while the coroner reports on her initial findings.
Upon initial investigation coroner states multiple stabbings to body
with a complete and total decapitation of head from shoulders.
“Well Kiara, what killed our beloved Nun, a stabbing or beheading?”
“Luckily for her, a fatal jab to the heart did the job.”
“She was stabbed twenty-six times, but why the decapitation I don't know.”
“It was a total clean separation; the killer definitely knew what he was doing.”
“This killing appears to have much more rage, its more savage, vengeance of a source.”
Worst murder Miers has seen in his forty-two years on the force and in homicide.

Killings
were going
to cease happening.
They were getting close.
Blade needed to halt killings.
Let things cool down a bit.
The heat was getting way too hot.
And now of all things, there's an eyewitness.
It's cold raw steel now enraged demands bitter revenge.
It's never called for revenge before, but now is different.
Witness must be terminated, obliterated, completely erased never known to exist.
Dispose of the body in Lye, acid and other liquids till gone.
No one messes with Blade, only It controls the killings, and only It.
Blade's keen edge fuels like a raging fire that burns hastily out of control
For Blade's killing spree to continue there can not be witnesses and there won't be.
It will search out this eyewitness and put an end his knowledge of Blade for good.
The need to get this kill out of the way is of utmost importance to Blades survival.

Unaware
that the
witness has been
watching its every move,
Blade wipes clean its iron.
Only blood it wants is fresh.
Its killings are never meaningful till now.
The anticipation of this killing ignites its adrenaline.
Every kill thus far has left IT unscathed, untouched.
This must be no different, execution must be carefully planned.
Blade's plan to kill, must be carried out quickly and precisely.
At that second something jabs into Blade causing it to lose balance.
Metal scrapes concrete as Blade is slammed into the cement losing its edge.
Warm metallic liquid flows down Blade, it smells different and tastes different, its Blade's.
After the hunt, the anticipation, the arousal, the kill, this is the final climax, Death.
The innocent destroys the perpetrator aggressively attacking without remorse, stabbing, stabbing uncontrollably, Blade can not defend.
It's edge no longer sharp causing Blade to falter and drop to the ground its shimmer dulled.
Blade shakes, trembles as pain engulfs its raw edge reaching from its beginning to its end in defeat.

Man
found dead
along side street
next to Back Door.
Identification verifies its Detective Miers
Autopsy will determine cause of death.
Multiple knife wounds to face and torso.
There is no clear evidence of attempted robbery.
Credit cards, money, wedding ring and watch are intact.
Officer White confiscated a zipped bag concealing a written note.
Letter found in Detective Dick Miers coat pocket reveals gruesome details,
information related to the murders of Judge's daughter, homeless man and girl.
I am 'Blade', the serial killer of the weak, unsuspecting gutless human animals.
I always knew the time might come when I'd get caught, injured or killed.
Know that I took extreme pleasure in the 'hunt' and the pursuit of the 'kill.'
Their death was intoxicating as I watched each and every one of them take their last breath.
The Nun by far was my favorite, all her praying and godly living could not save her.
But I will not be forgotten, history will find a place for me where I will rest comfortably.
Rest assured you may sleep tonight, but I will encompass your every nightmare, FOR I AM 'THE MIGHTY BLADE'

Loved this! You should turn it into a TV series: "Blade needs blood! or Blade must kill!". I wonder who it was that actually killed the blade.

Hi Jessica, Thanks again for taking the time to read and comment on my stories. It would make a pretty good TV series. The suspense of who killed Blade will be revealed in the next story. Happy reading.

I love this format for your stories and here, it helped make it shine even more. So much tension kept building with every new amount of sentences added and that reveal at the end is genuinely shocking. Great job!

I appreciate your insightfulness Lillian. Yes, I incorporated murders happening leading up to the climax, making the reader try to guess who committed the murders. I'm glad you enjoyed the story.

Thanks Kim. These types of stories do come a little easier for me. I'm still trying to develop a 'Hallmark ' style story. I have something in mind, we'll see where it goes.
