Thank You America!
Born 2008, M, from 98012, United StatesIts Easter finally, There is no better feeling then getting ready to find that golden egg.
I am old though, to understand that there is money in that golden egg
I arrive to my aunties house with the smell of salmon hoarding the outside and inside of the house.
Families turn on karaoke, I do not sing.
I bring my Tenor saxophone from the back of my mothers car and prepare it.
I play the Billie Jean while my cousin gets his trombone ready for the "Background music."
Where the American neighbors hear music and come to the house in peace and friendship.
The Kereoke is turned off and it is just me and my cousin playing billie jean.
The screaming of my old auntie is one that I do not forget.
I am proud to be living in America.
I am proud that there is a toy shop near my house for me to surprise my little brother with.
I am proud to be living in this much peace and freedom.
I look at my brother while he is creating a saxophone drawing on desmos by using math functions.
I exclaim "Nerd!" and he smiles back.
We are proud to be living in America, We are proud to have this much opportunity, we are proud to own 2 huge boats.
I exclaim to my family "Do you guys want to fish with us tommorow, since we dont have work after Easter?"
They exclaim "YES!" So loud as if a TSAR Bomb has dropped and exploaded, I did jump in joy and nerviousness when they exclaimed that loud.
The next day I load up the boat at 6am; there is a no better feeling than loading up the boat with rods, while daydreaming the sunshine rising in the horizen.
I take my DJI Drone and fly it 2 miles into the clear waters and over "Hat Island," My elders always do the classic exclamations "Back In My Day, there were No Drones! YOU ARE LUCKY!!!!" I smile back.
The Drone comes back and lands safely while I prepare the boat.
We go on the water and my father lets me drive, and my family drive.
The boat is slow and our family can't get over the luxurious boat we have, we want a quick and maneuverable boat, but our mom's opinions get through. That explains the sign my dad always talks about "If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody be happy."
We fish and catch over 100 flounders, which we all throw away, I hold the flounder, my mom jumps in fright and goes to the cabin. My father and I have a laugh and listen to Kerri on Spotify while eating our cold subway sandwiches.
Our home is the water, water is what is able to connect me towards my family more than anything, The American Dream and Freedom is what Holds my family in peace.
I am thankful of the Clear American Waters and Fish, I am grateful of the American cuisine and culture around my living space. I am Appreciative for having a bowling ally near my house, and a boating launch. I am Beholden to live in a safe neighborhood with my childhood friends sticking around. I am Indebted to be part of the one and only: America! A country build by the people, and for the people!
Thank You America!(Vache Kosyan)
