Vivamus, moriendum est.
Born 1959, M, from Stoke, United KingdomLet us live, since we must die
Less the joy of life should pass us by
A gentle breeze, a summers day
Snowball fights on a winters sleigh
Warm laughter, friends, a lovers kiss
Good memories made to reminisce
Life’s not a choice to wonder why
Just let us live, since we must die.

04/12/2024Hey Tallisman,
I came for the Latin, and stayed for the Poem. LOL. In my Seminary days, I could read the Punic Wars in Latin, now I can't even read a quarter. but the title caught my eye. The Poem, well, that was a super plus. All of those experiences are ones I have shared. Short but powerful.

04/12/2024Hey Talisman,
It works okay with the way it is. But you brought up exactly why I can't write poetry. A good enough word isn't good enough, it has to be the perfect word, or phrase. And that takes effort, thought, and editing!

04/12/2024Also, they call Latin a dead language, but it’s so ingrained in other languages it cannot die!

04/12/2024Thanks Kevin, I have some more like this! Just realised I didn’t correct line 4! Should have been changed to “snowball fights from a winters sleigh”, oh well….
