A bridge of hope
Born 2006, F, from Pakistan/lahore, PakistanTitle: "A Bridge of Hope"
As the sun set over the city, a young boy, stood on the edge of the bridge, his feet precariously close to the edge. Tears streaming down his face, he felt the weight of the world crushing him. He thought of ending it all, of letting go and surrendering to the darkness.
But then, he heard a gentle voice behind him. "Hey, don't move. I'm here for you." It was a girl, her eyes filled with compassion and concern. She slowly approached him, her words dripping with empathy. "You are not alone, We can face this together."
His gaze met hers, and for a moment, they just breathed together. The girl's kindness and warmth enveloped him like a blanket, and he felt a glimmer of hope. With her support, he slowly stepped back from the edge, and together, they walked towards a brighter future.

06/27/2024I'm glad that you tackled this important topic. I think that the more times that we put out there that there is an alternative to ending the pain, the more likely that we might change the mind of someone in distress. That being said though, I wish the story had more. It seemed more like an outline or description of what the actual story would be. I have read and enjoyed a number of your stories and hope that you will flesh this one out and submit it again.
