"Forever 15"
Born 2007, F, from Mt.Vernon, United StatesHave you ever met anyone special and then next thing you know, they are gone? I did. It was a boy in middle school. 6th grade at the time and making friends was hard to do at the time. You know, new school, new people. But anyway, I met this boy a couple weeks after school started back and he was so kind to everyone. Wouldn't let anyone have a bad day at all. He was funny, intelligent, so awesome too. A bit mischievous but you know how boys are. He was a good friend to everyone. Never judged or made fun. He made me realize that it's okay to show your true characteristics and to never hesitate doing so. Throughout this, notice I have been saying "was." In the middle of that school year, we had gotten an announcement that made tears fill up my eyes and made my mind freeze up. Caleb was his name. I won't tell his last name due to respect but they had said that he had died of suicide. Died? I thought, There's no way he can die this young. He was only 15. My age. I had no idea but he had been going through a lot in his personal life. As I think this tears fill up my eyes again. How could he have been so caring about others and not himself. Why didn't he talk to anyone including me about what was going on? I will never understand that. And another thing, I didn't cry out of pity but because I had lost a friend. A good one at that. He had taught me a lot of things that I never stopped to think about. So, 3 years later, I decided to write a song about him. It's called "Forever 15" because even though he's up in heaven now he will always be forever 15 and be my best friend. I'm not finished with it but I'm halfway there yet. So, if you have lost a loved one or someone you care about, you should write a full page of memories that you can remember of them. It will help you feel much better, believe me.
"Forever 15"
I met this boy
In middle school
It was in 6th grade
And he was cool.
He knew how to make someone smile,
When they were feeling down.
Then in the middle of that year,
They told us he was gone
And my eyes filled up with tears
Realizing that it was wrong for this to happen.
But now I know,
He'll always be forever 15
He'll always be my best friend
Whether he's up in heaven
Or down here with me.
I'm glad I had the chance
To meet such a nice kid
I didn't cry out of pity
But because I lost a friend.
A friend who showed me everything
And taught me to understand
That we rise by lifting others,
And caring for each other.
Yeah, he'll always be forever 15,
He'll always be my best friend.
Whether he's up in heaven,
Or down here with me.

08/30/2024Have you ever lost such a good friend? If your comfortable, I would love to hear about your good memories that have been made throughout those years. We all have hard times getting back on the right track after a loss. So lets all be together in this and smile through our tears because it never ends. Memeories always lasts as long as you can remember them.
