*The last letter*

Matthew was arranging the scattered areas around the attic when he stumbled upon a box that had his great-grandfather's possessions in it. He opened it and then stumbled upon a letter and began to read it.

Dear Allison,

How are you? I know you're in France now, but I'll keep writing and sending letters to you. I want to tell you about the girl I met, Julia, on the way to school. She was charming and attractive; instantly, your dear brother fell in love with her. I couldn't avoid resisting her charms and beauty. I plucked a flower from a nearby garden beside me, walked up to her, and said, "Hi, how are you?" Since then, we became friends until she had to move to Italy with her family. I still remember the time I gave her the rose. I promised to always write letters back to her.

Then Matthew saw another letter:

Dear Louis,

It has been challenging for me here in Italy; the white people are racist. I can't wait to see you again. I'll come back to Texas soon, I promise, and this time we're much older. When I come back, I can't wait for you to kiss me. Don't you know that I know you've been crushing on me since high school?

Then Matthew laughed. He saw another letter:

Dear Julia,

I am so delighted to see your letter. I can't wait for you to come back. Immediately, I'll pick you up at the train station; I'll hug you and kiss you. Wait, how did you know I have been crushing on you? With your smile, your cute face... OMG, I have fallen in love with you. Come to Texas soon; I'm waiting for you.

Matthew quickly took his phone and screenshot the letters. Then he saw the last letter in a diary titled "The Last Letter":

Dear Louis,

How are you? I am excited to tell you that I have saved a lot and am coming back to Texas in a few months' time. I can't wait to see you.

Then, in his great-grandfather's diary, he saw another page titled "The Truth Revealed":

This was so heartbreaking. My dear Julia is missing. What happened to her? She first traveled to Southampton, England, and boarded the Titanic from Southampton, England, to New York, but unfortunately, the ship sank, and my lover died.

Matthew was shocked, sad, and eventually flipped to the next page, titled "Joy in Chaos":

Few days after I heard the news, I was walking through the grocery store when I met Evelyn, who was an angel God sent to me to replace Julia. Soon, we got married and had our kids, Daniel, Rachel, Zion, and Charles.

Matthew picked up and arranged everything and went to his grandpa and showed him everything he saw in the attic. His grandpa was Charles, Louis's son, and also Charles gave birth to James, who gave birth to Matthew. Charles was so delighted to see his father's letter; then he laughed out loud and looked at Matthew and said, "You know that's not the end of the story, right? Well, my father told me that Julia's demise was so painful and heartbreaking that he couldn't heal over it. When he met Evelyn, she was like Julia but in another body; she had everything Julia had. Evelyn, on the other hand, was the daughter of the richest man in Texas at that time. Evelyn's father disapproved of their relationship because my father's family was middle-class-based, and Evelyn's father was a rich and famous socialite. Eventually, the two saved enough money, then they ran away from Texas to Minnesota to start a new life. Later on, my grandfather, who was Evelyn's father, came to beg them to forgive him, and they did. That's why our family is related to the King's family in Texas, and also my mother, Evelyn, was so beautiful; she was talented, her food was so delicious. I bet that no one else's food is as delicious as her food, according to my dad."

Charles sighed and looked at an eager Matthew, who was ready for more stories. Then Charles continued, "My dad always compared every quality my mother had to Julia's, especially my mother's cooking, and also the difference between Julia and my mom was that my mother was white, like my father, and also my mother's family status."

Matthew then said, "Grandpa, thanks a lot for sharing the details of my great-grandpa's life. It has impacted me that life has ups and downs." Then Matthew hugged his grandpa and ran to his aunt Gabrielle and told her all the things his grandpa told him and also what he learned. Then he asked, "Aunt, when is Dad and my cousin Alex coming back from New York,am sure you have missed your son Alex?" His aunt looked at him and said, "James, you can come out now." When Matthew saw his dad, he ran and hugged
him, then said, "Promise me you won't go for another long business trip, Mum and I have been waiting for you. Anyway, Mum went to work and Lucy and Diana went to their friends house and left their little brother alone with mum,since I was the only one at home mum dropped me at Grandpa's place." James called Rose who was Matthew , Diana and Lucy's mother that there will be a family gathering in the evening. When Gabrielle saw her son Alex hugged him really tight and he said"mum have missed you, Grace and Joy also have missed you but they have exams so they won't be able to visit you , but my sisters promise to see you " Gabrielle hugged her son

Later that evening, everyone, including Charles' siblings, James and Gabrielle, and also their kids, had a beautiful dinner. The room was filled with laughter and chatter as they shared stories and memories. Matthew felt grateful to be surrounded by his loving family and to have learned so much about his great-grandfather's life.

As they finished dinner, Charles looked at Matthew and said, "You know, I'm glad you're interested in our family's history. It's important to remember where we come from and the stories that shape us." Matthew smiled, feeling happy to have such a wonderful family and a rich history to cherish.

As the night came to a close, Matthew hugged his family members and thanked them for the wonderful evening. He knew he would always treasure the memories of this special day and the stories he learned about his great-grandfather's life. Then Lucy and Diana said "Hey grandpa what else did You tell Matthew, since we missed your interesting stories geez we won't have gone to our friend's house, but grandpa promise to tell us " . Charles laughed and he said "My beautiful twins I promise to tell you " .
Charles told the girls the story and they made everyone laughed by doing the Titanic moment from the movie *The Titanic*
then Matthew began to sing "My heart will go on "and the rest of the family members joined him and danced to it.
