The MVP hunt
Born 2008, F, from Lahore, PakistanShe woke up from an unidentified dream, where she and a boy with a hidden face were in a forest. The dream faded away as she heard a familiar sound - someone calling her name. Everything seemed real until the sound echoed everywhere, saying "Rose." But then, another sound whispered, "Ro..." Someone pleaded, "Don't go... Don't leave me!"
After this, she woke up in her bed, afraid, still hearing one of the sounds from her dream. As she tried to convince herself it was just a dream rose closed her eyes.
When she opened them again, she found herself in school, and everything seemed normal. Her friend Nahi called her, and she joined the other students standing by the window. The teacher entered with a new student, Jihoon, and introduced him. A new day began.
Jihoon's first day wasn't easy. He realized the class was divided into groups and was pressured to choose one. Unknowingly, he sat alone in the cafeteria until a boy told him about the class dynamics. "Our class is divided into groups, Team A and Team B, because of Han and Rounho's breakup. You have to choose one," Lan explained. Jihoon : he seemed like a good guy,
but the choice wouldn't be easy... . . .
It was dark, and she was sitting fearfully in the dark corner of her room. "Who are you? I can't take it anymore. Show yourself, I'm begging you!" she cried out.
And then, the darkness disappeared. She saw a paper on the floor and picked it up, wondering what had just happened. She couldn't remember anything.
She went downstairs to drink some water, thinking it was too late to be scared. She went back to bed, but after some time, the darkness in the room began to grow again...
(Is she dreaming again)
Choosing a group wasn't easy for Jihoon, but due to Lan, his first friend, he began to sit with Team B, led by Han. In no time, he became friends with everyone. Jihoon noticed the class's tendency to team up during activities, study sessions, and PT class assignments. However, he also saw that some students, like Lan, weren't happy with this arrangement. Lan, Jihoon, Rose, Nahi, Sara, and others quit Teams to break free, but unknowingly, they formed another opposing team, Team C.
Rose walked into her home, where her mother was waiting for dinner, her father running late. Rose clutched a large, brown teddy bear, say "hi" roji with her face hidden behind it, unable to see her mother's shocked expression.
Later that night, Rose studied near her bed, with the teddy bear, Roji, lying beside her. As the room darkened, she sensed something off. A shadowy figure appeared, sending fear through her veins. She cowered in the corner, hiding behind a chair, pleading, "Who are you? I can't take it anymore. Show yourself, I'm begging you."
As she spoke, the eerie presence vanished. Rose saw the paper she had been searching for on the ground, but couldn't recall what had happened. she went downstairs to drink water and sleep, thinking it was too late.
After falling asleep, Rose's room began to darken once more. A shadowy figure appeared beside her bed, but when she shifted positions, no one was there. A deep sigh echoed through the air, and to her astonishment, her teddy bear's hand seemed to move, tapping her head as if saying "sleep well." A gentle whisper merged with the wind from the open window, saying "OK, as you wish, Ro."
It was a bright and happy morning at school as the teacher announced a trip to the nearby woods during the assembly. The students were ecstatic, jumping and cheering with excitement. However, amidst the joy, one student stood out for their sadness. Ohani noticed it as the lines were heading back to the classroom. One student from Team A suddenly jumped out of line and joined the line of Team C, or the one with no team, as what they consider, standing behind Rose. That student was Ohani herself. Did Ohani also quit the teaming?
Ohani whispered in Rose's ear while walking, but as they entered the classroom, Ohani wasn't there. She was back in Team A, where she was supposed to be.
In the evening, every student excitedly entered their homes and asked their parents for permission to go on the trip. Everyone - Rounho, Han, Lan, Ohani, Nahi, and others - received permission.
But for Rose, it was a bit different. She entered her house and went directly to her room, only coming down when called by her father. As she descended the stairs to lunch, she noticed a third person sitting with her parents - a girl. Rose said "hmm" and sat down with them. She was her cousin. Rose's father asked about the trip, as he had been told by her cousin. Rose said, "No, it's okay. I won't insist this time. I won't go, okay?" She hadn't told them about the trip, and now she was trying to downplay it.
Then Rose stood up, turned around, and began to head to her room. As she stepped on the first stair, she let out a deep, sad sigh. Her own words echoed in her mind: "I won't go, I won't go, it's okay." She thought to herself, "I want to, but..."
She was stunned to hear unfamiliar words that she couldn't even believe: "You can go," her mother said just now. "No, no, no, it isn't right." Rose thought to herself, "Don't look back, don't try to turn, okay? Just leave." She was in shock, trying to process what her mother had just said. The girl sitting next to her parents stood up, took Rose's hand, and led her upstairs, saying, "I think we need to talk."
Sitting in Rose's room, she said, "How did you do it? They just gave me permission, and I'm going tomorrow!" Rose was overjoyed.
Ohani im so happy,
[Ohani, the girl from Team A, is her cousin.]
Ohani continued, "Okay, okay, I get it. It's okay, Rose. So, I have a question. In return for what I did, you have to tell me a truth."
Rose agreed, "Yeah, I'll do. Promise."
Ohani asked, "So, is anything happening, Rose?"
Rose replied, "Amm, what? No."
Ohani pressed on, "Oh, I mean, your mom said that you haven't been sleeping easily"
Rose downplayed it, "Oh, that? Amm, maybe I was taking it too seriously, but I don't remember. It was just a dream, so..."
Ohani stood up, walking around the room, taking in the familiar surroundings. "It's been a while since I've been here. Nothing's changed, but..." She pointed to the teddy bear. "Where did you get it? It's pretty."
Rose replied, "Oh, it's Roji, my friend."
Ohani's eyes lit up. "Oh, I want to buy a same one. Where did you get it?"
Rose began to answer, "Amm, I got it from..." But before she could finish, she collapsed. Ohani quickly called for Rose's parents, who were outside, wondering
[What they all want to know]."Hey, what happened? Rose's father was seeing Rose in that situation. What happened, Ohani? I don't know, we were just talking about the teddy bear. See, I told you it's not just a teddy bear, it's Roji. So, Ohani, you think she should go?
But anty its the only way to do..."
It's the day of the trip to the woodland. Everyone enters with joy, eager to start their adventure after a long wait. On the trip, everyone is enjoying themselves. Ohani feels like she's in a dream, hearing a voice calling her name, saying, 'Ohani, come faster, I'm waiting for you.' As she walks, many people pass by her, but their faces are blurred. Some of them have faces she recognizes, and she calls out to those she knows. Feeling overwhelmed and depressed, Ohani falls to the ground. A girl rushes to her side and helps her up, but Ohani can't see her face. As they venture deeper into the woods, Ohani's name echoes all around her. She covers her ears, trying to block out the sound. The same girl appears again, and Ohani says to her, 'Ro, run!
Team A and Team B sat around the campfire, ready to begin their horror story match. Team C joined them, and Jihoon from Team C started telling the first and last story.
"Once upon a time, on Oakwood Island, a lonely girl had everyone's affection but yearned for a friend to play with. One day, she unknowingly wandered into the forbidden Darkhaven Woods, where a demon lived in darkness. As she ventured deeper, she befriended the demon, and they spent time together every day at 3 pm for 33 minutes.
"The girl's family noticed her frequent disappearances and discovered her secret. At the same time every day the girl entered the woods.Nobody at that time knows that where the girl goes. The girl's wishes to play with a friend near the forbidden area broke the seals of the demon . When she said, 'Come out with me, and I'll show you the beauty outside,' the demon saved her from her own family when everyone knows about the demon.
"The demon granted her wishe: to protect her and avenge anyone who hurt her, . The villagers tricked her into making the third wish, to make the demon stay in the woods forever separating her from the demon. Enraged, the demon vanished the entire town and villagers disappeared from that day. But, it still searches for its dear friend, hoping she'll return."
The story ends..
As Jihoon finished his story, everyone around the campfire fell to the ground, entranced. Jihoon walked away, only to be confronted by Ohani, who asked, "Why tell this story? Where did you hear it?" Jihoon shrugged, "I don't know, Ohani. It's just a story."
But as the night wore on, the group realized they were alone in the woods, surrounded by an eerie fog. A strange voice echoed through the trees, "Welcome to Darkhaven Woods." Panic set in as they called out for each other, running until exhaustion took over.
The next morning, they awoke to the same voice, "Hello, contestants. Let's explain the rules for the first level." The group was shocked, realizing their dream was actually reality. The voice continued, "You will each receive a mark indicating your category: Gamer, Spy, Villager, or Designated Person.
As the game begins, each contestant receives a mark on their pad, indicating their category: Spy, Designated Person, Gamer, or Villager. The voice instructs them to complete tasks according to their category to clear game levels. Their objective is to identify the Spy, who may betray them, and find the Designated Person, who holds the key to ending the game. Additionally, finding the Gamer can also lead to ending the game.
Contestants receive pads displaying their tasks and points. The contestant with zero points will lose, and the one with the most votes for being the correct person will also be executed and lose. Therefore, hiding one's identity is crucial.
At 3 o'clock, the game starts, and the first task appears on their pads: a riddle to solve within 33 minutes. The riddle reads:
"In the shadows, I'm born to thrive,
When truth is dangerous, I survive.
With every word, a false disguise,
I hide the truth, with a deceitful guise.
What am I?"
Jihoon solves the riddle first, as his name was called out as the time passes others name ,ohani, han, rounho, nahi,a senior, and a teacher miss lee and the answer is revealed to be "a lie." Contestants are then given the option to change their mark to a fake one or swap its place to hide it somewhere else's.
The marks are:
- Spy: Dark, bold eye
- Designated Person: Dark, five-pointed star
- Gamer: Small, "Pause" button
- Villager: Flame
- Jihoon's eyes widened as he sprinted towards the designated spot, only to find someone already occupying it. The girl had arrived first, leaving Jihoon stunned. As the time limit expired, the candidates who made it on time formed a circle, exchanging curious glances.
Jihoon's gaze remained fixed on the girl, his mind still reeling from the unexpected turn of events. Rose and Ohani departed, breaking the circle, and Lan approached Jihoon. "Hey, what's wrong?" Lan asked, noticing Jihoon's distraction.
Jihoon shook his head, still trying to process what had happened. "Did you change your mark or spot?" Lan inquired. Jihoon replied, "No, I didn't." Lan pressed on, "Then why the spaced-out look?"
Jihoon's attention remained focused on the girl's former spot. "Lan, did you hear Rose's name called?" he asked, his voice laced with confusion. Lan responded, "No, I didn't. But Jihoon, you didn't arrive first, did you?" Jihoon's only response was a thoughtful "Hmmm..."
A new day dawned, but the atmosphere was thick with tension. The group was abuzz with curiosity, each member eager to unmask the others. Some dismissed it as a childish game, but the seniors seemed on edge, their concern about returning to their normal lives growing.
As 3 o'clock struck, the next level commenced, and the group steeled themselves to face the challenges ahead. With a collective deep breath, they prepared to tackle the unknown obstacles that lay in store.
As the second game began, a riddle appeared, leaving everyone perplexed. Jihoon's face lit up, hinting he knew the answer, but something held him back. As he walked away, he heard someone else call out the answer - Ohani. She declared, "The answer is 'A Secret'."
That night, Ohani was surrounded by a strange mist while sleeping. She tried to escape but failed. Jihoon, who had turned back after hearing the answer, was also captured. They both heard the riddle again, along with the answer: "A mystery I am, but not to one, They know my truth, and the day is won. What am I?"
The voice continued to taunt them, leading them to a place where they faced their memories. Jihoon saw himself as a spy, and the other contestants were different. He realized he had played this game before and made a pact with a demon, becoming a slave to the real gamer. Overwhelmed, Jihoon collapsed.
Ohani, meanwhile, found herself in a room filled with pictures. She saw one of herself and screamed, "No, no, no!" She then appeared at Rose's house, whispering something to Rose's mother. Ohani saw her mother burning something in the fire, and the flames spread to the campfire where everyone was lying. Jihoon picked something from the fire, and Ohani heard her own words echoing in her mind: "Burn it." As her eyes closed, she whispered, "roji."
As morning dawned, the contestants gathered, only to discover that some of their friends were missing. Panic set in as they searched for the absent individuals, but their names had been cancelled from the contestant list. The remaining players were left with unanswered questions, wondering what had happened to their friends.
Determined to escape the game and avoid further disappearances, they focused on completing the next challenge. However, some contestants failed to finish, incurring point penalties. One player's points plummeted to zero, and a hushed voice in the crowd whispered, "He's gone." The next morning, he vanished.
The contestants realized they had to end the game quickly to survive. As they frantically worked towards this goal, a girl slipped away from the group, gossiping about finding the Designated Person. She rushed to a corner, checked her pad, and discovered her task.
That night, she returned to Ohani and talked a bit.later at night Under the cover of darkness, she snuck back to the corner and performed a mysterious action near the tree. Jihoon confronted her, his voice shaking as he accused her of being the spy. He opened a secret pad on the tree, revealing her true identity.
The girl fled, declaring, "I'm going to end this game!"
The girl walked ahead, and Jihoon followed. When they reached the corner, they saw the same person. Then, they heard a riddle:
"I'm the final piece, the last to fall
Without me, the game will stand tall
I'm the key to freedom, the end of the test
Find me and use me, and you'll finally rest
What am I?"
Everyone tried to solve it. But this time, there was no new task. Han said the game would keep going. Suddenly, two players fell down. A voice said, "The spy caught you!"
The spy revealed their identities, so they couldn't hide. They ran around, asking "Who did it?" and lost points fast. Rounho along them disappeared too.
The next morning, Jihoon ran to the tree and found Ohani and another girl there.Jihoon reached the tree and found Ohani and Sara, the spy, waiting. Jihoon tried to stop Sara, warning her that revealing Ohani's identity would end the game. But Sara was determined to win, saying, "I'll end the game now. I've found the designated person, Ohani."
Jihoon revealed that he knew Sara was the spy because he had played the game before and recognized the same tactics. Sara opened the pad on the tree, and Jihoon exposed himself, leading to his defeat. As his points reached zero, everyone realized Sara was the spy and voted her out.
That night, Jihoon told Ohani that she had to end the game, revealing his anger and concern. Ohani asked about the campfire night, and Jihoon recalled finding a half-burned ribbon with the letters "R,O,J,I" - Roji. As his eyes closed, he whispered, "The story is real. He want her back."
Han overheard their conversation and ran away, crying. He missed Rounho, his former rival in the game. The next morning, Jihoon and Sara were gone, leaving only a few players. The senior urged them to find the designated person quickly. Ohani was lost in thought, remembering her conversation with Rose after the first game. Rose had said she didn't receive a mark at first and was at the task place when the riddle appeared. After Jihoon and the spy Sara disappeared, the class began to buzz with rumors about Sara being bullied and Rounho betraying her. The two other contestants who were with them that night were caught by the spy, causing tension among the contestants to rise. The voice echoed, "You are caught by the spy," and everyone scattered.
The next morning, the last two bullies of Sara vanished. She had already exposed their identities and confirmed the time. The hidden spot of the spy was destroyed, and the game of spy came to an end.
That evening, during a group chat, the senior said, "Now that there's no more spy, we need to find the designated person as soon as possible before we all die. We'll reveal our marks, and the designated person will be revealed." He showed the sentence on his pad: "You are a villager."
However, not everyone agreed, and the group chat ended abruptly. Rose wasn't part of the group chat, and when Lan asked, "Where is Rose?" Ohani simply looked at Rose's space, noticing her absence., Rose and Ohani, were together when Ohani asked Rose about her strange behavior. "Why aren't you playing well? Why weren't you in the group chat?" she asked.
Rose replied, "I was finding a little boy."
Ohani was taken aback. "A boy? What do you mean?"
Rose explained, "I met him by the lake yesterday. He wanted me to follow him, and we went through the bushes to a village. I saw my brother and Uncle Kim there, but when I called out to my brother, the boy grabbed my hand and we ran away from the village. We passed through a dark area and ended up in a place where I met Jihoon. He's alive, Ohani!"
Ohani thought Rose was daydreaming. "You must be missing Jihoon, we all know how close you two were."
But Rose insisted, "No, I'm telling you, I saw him!"
Ohani tried to bring Rose back to reality. "There's no one else on this island, Rose. You need to focus on the game. Your points are decreasing and will hit zero if you don't play well."
Rose tried to explain again, but Ohani cut her off. "What I told you, Rose, you don't want to end up like Jihoon. Why aren't you listening to me?"
Ohani then said, "Let's go, Rose."
Rose that night again was in thought when she tries to remember what jihoon said "someone is behide you" she suddenly looked back saying who??she left the place unknowingly about the shadow in the woods behind her.
The next day, when everyone decided to reveal their marks, some did, and we had villagers all around. Some left, but Ohani, Han, Rose, and two other seniors insisted on showing their marks. However, when they were about to do so, it was time for another game. In the game, Rose was out of her mind and acting weirdly; she didn't even play. Lan was the first to win among the five suspects, and Rose lost all her points. That night, she would be gone, just like the others. Lan and Ohani were sad for Rose and sat beside her as everyone collapsed. The night's darkness fell all around.
In the morning, when they all woke up, Rose was still there, lying in front of their eyes. "Why is she here? She didn't go anywhere! How can this have happened?" Everyone shouted aggressively as Senior headed toward Rose. "She must be the designated person," he said, and everyone voted for her in no time. Ohani stepped forward, showing her pad to everyone, where the sentence read: "You are the designated person of this game. Hide your identity. Let's play." Ohani and Han shouted, "I said I heard them talk! Ohani and Jihoon, she is the person we wanted. If you had listened to me, she would have been caught by now."
Reading this, everyone voted for her, and as the voting completed, the voice congratulated them: "You played well. The game is over." The door to the outside opened, and everyone stepped out in joy, feeling free. Suddenly, a high sound approached their ears: Bage 8 had arrived at the village.
As all contestants opened their eyes to reality, they saw themselves standing in a village. "Welcome to Owkwood Island," a voice said. In no time, another door opened with the same sound as in the Darkheaven Woods, and all their friends who had disappeared came out of that door.
Rose ran toward ohani whom just appeared from the door of disappeared ones pointing toward the crowd of people of owkwood island showing
her brother, tears of joy in her eyes. "I told you I saw him!" she exclaimed.
She ran toward his brother as when he said "i missed you ro....se"
Lan snuck out to join Ohani and Jihoon, who were talking to the islanders. When Lan asked Jihoon how they knew him, Jihoon didn't answer, and a fight started. Mr. Kim from Bage 2 stopped the fight, revealing he was a spy who worked with the demon and escaped the village.
The Bage 8 contestants were shocked and demanded answers. That night, they were terrified to learn that Jihoon's story was the reason for the game. The demon was real, and his story started everything.
Mr. Kim began to explain that when the demon and his friend were separated, the demon sought revenge against those who had imprisoned him. He couldn't escape the forest, so he lured people in by using spies to find the designated person. The spies would identify individuals connected to the demon's target, and when the time was right, the demon would start the game. The riddles were all related to the demon, his friend, and the betrayers.
As Mr. Kim finished speaking, he glanced at Rose's brother, as if he had revealed something wrong. A girl stepped forward, admitting she was a former spy. When the game ended, she was captured and offered a deal by the demon: find another target, and she could leave. However, she disagreed upon learning the target's identity, while another spy accepted the deal. That spy succeeded but ended up back in the game, becoming the person who started the game.
Jihoon approached the girl, saying he had no choice but to participate. The girl left, and Ohani asked how they could end the game. Someone from Bage 1 replied that the demon would never stop until they handed over Ro, the most valuable person. Mr. Kim interrupted, saying they would discuss this later.
Meanwhile, Sara, a spy from Bage 8, was given a similar deal to find another person from Ro's family. She accepted and found herself in the forest when she awoke from sleep. Horrified by the sight of bodies hanging from trees, she ran until she reached the trip's destination. Finding her phone in her pocket, she called the school, only to discover that a week had passed, despite feeling like they had played the game for over a month. The contestants, still full of questions, gathered again in the morning. One of them asked about the girl who had left, and Rose's brother turned around, unable to answer as he had before. Mr. Kim explained that her family had taken her away, as requested by the native villagers, and had erased her memories of the demon through brainwashing.
Later, Ohani ran to Rose's brother, saying "Rose!" and they rushed to her side. Rose had been sitting in the same spot for half a day, unmoving. Ohani shouted her name, and a tear streamed down Rose's face, but she didn't blink. Rose's brother gently approached her, holding her hand, but she didn't move. Then, Rose spoke a single word: "Roji." This caused a commotion, and everyone gathered around.
The next morning, Jihoon asked why it always involved ji' family. What did the demon want from them? Who was Ro? Rose's brother shouted at Jihoon, but he replied, "Why is it always like this? You, Mr. Kim, Ohani, Sung...
what do you want to know?" The argument escalated into a fight, but Sung intervened, saying, "Minho, don't fight. You all know what Roji wants, so can you give him..."
Meanwhile, Sara sat by the campfire as the students' families arrived with police. Everyone questioned her about the others, but she was in bad condition and couldn't answer. She only pointed toward the forest. The police officers ran towards it and found many bodies.
Rose awoke, and Ohani and Sung were sitting beside her. She was okay now. Sung asked what had happened, and Rose's brother, Minho, sat close to her, asking if she was okay. Ohani urged Rose to tell them the truth, but Rose hesitated, remembering Mr. Kim's warning not to talk about it. Ohani insisted, and Rose began to speak. They all listened to Rose's story about the forest, the same words echoed from the three of them "A little boy". Ohani reassured them, saying "yes." Rose was told to rest, while the others went outside.
Meanwhile, the bodies were found outside the forest, and to everyone's surprise, they were all alive but in a coma. The victims were identified as missing persons from the past two years, including all the students from Sara's class. Sara was suspected of doing something to them, but as the victims' families arrived, one body went missing of some one from the-
students- while another case that Jihoon, who had been missing for five months. However, he had been studying with them for four months before his disappearance.
Rose left the room, asking about Jihoon, saying she met him in her dream while he was gone. Jihoon was shocked, asking if it was just a dream. Rose replied, "I missed you that much." Jihoon asked, "Was that a dream? Really? We had the same dream?" They both exclaimed, "You remember! You said someone was behind me. Who?"
Rose looked back, asking "Who?" and Jihoon was terrified.
Sara was in a room with Ohani's parents, gazing at photos on the wall. She was shocked to see that they were all missing persons from her family. An old lady held a picture of her daughter, and when Rose's family arrived, Sara was stunned to learn that Ohani and Rose were cousins.
More shocking news echoed in her ears - the story of the demon and a girl was real. Sara demanded to know who the girl was and where she was, insisting that finding her was the only way to end the game.
The next day, Sara went to the island with Ji's family, but she disappeared in the fog. She found herself in the village of Owkwood Island, where everyone whose body she had found was present. Sara was confused, asking why they were all there. She approached the girl whose body wasn't there, saying, "Ro, I found you. You have to end the game. Roji wants you back."
But Rose, who was being held by Sara, replied, "Who is Roji? I don't know." Sara explained everything to the group, and Sung and Mr. Kim admitted the truth. Meanwhile, Rose was kept away, and Minho and Ohani went with her, trying to help her . Rose had many questions - who was Roji, who was Ro, and who was she? She looked at her brother for answers, but he didn't have any.
The next morning, Rose was captured inside while everyone was outside. Suddenly, the door opened, and Rose heard that having her wasn't important because she didn't have her memories of Ro and the demon. Rose cried out, "I'm Ro! I'm Ro!" as she ran away.
Minho sat beside Rose .She was overwhelmed, but when Minho held her hand, she said, "I know, I heard you talk." Rose collapsed, and a scene ensued as she fell to the ground. In her memories, she was surrounded by mist, hearing voices say, "End the game, you're the cause of this." When she screamed, someone held her hand, leading her back to memories of Ro, which she had lost.
Rose awoke, saying "Roji," as tears streamed down her face. She remembered everything. A dark shadow approached, covering Rose, and she saw the little boy who was Roji. The boy transformed into the old Roji. Everyone saw Rose and her demon friend, reliving their friendship, wishes, separation, and suffering. The dark shadow disappeared with Roji, leaving Rose lying there.
When everyone awoke, they found themselves in a hospital. The fog on the island dissipated, and Rose's family found her coming out of the village. The villagers had been killed by Roji long ago, and their bodies were found in the island's cave.
A year passed, and everything returned to normal. Rose sat in class, and Ohani called out to her as the teaching ended. Sara had made many friends, Jihoon studied with them, and Han and Roumho were together again. Mr. Kim returned to his family, and Sung went back home. Rose's family was complete, and they had dinner together. However, Rose felt empty and went to her room, saying, "I missed you, Roji."
As she fell asleep, hugging her teddy Roji, the teddy patted her head, and a voice echoed in the darkness of her room,"Im always there with you"
The MVP hunt(I-writes)
She woke up from an unidentified dream, where she and a boy with a hidden face were in a forest.
