To My Elder Child

Oh, my elder child, you're a prized gift,
I am pondering what I did, to deserve your lift
My devotions were responded to, and I found you,
a sensitive soul, beautiful and true

We have survived, life storms together,
seen good and bad times of harsh weather
You wiped away my tears and hugged me tight,
You embraced me with love in the darkest night

Your maturity is beyond your years,
your voice carrying soul through smiles and tears
"Are you okay, mamma?" brings me so much joy,
knowing all my faults, you love me, Oh my boy!

I'm thankful for life and the sweetest you,
obliged for love which is pure and true
You grow into an exceptional man with a heart of gold,
spread humanity and happiness and never be cold

May HE guide you to love and shine bright,
keep spreading joy and be full of light

This is beautiful and pure love from a parent to a child. I hope and pray that one day i will be able to say these lovely words to my kids.

Reading this brought a smile to my face. There is something so wonderful when a mother expresses her love for her child. Much congrats on being the Short Story Star of the Day!
