Surprise wedding proposal on a plane!
Born 1996, F, from Melbourne, AustraliaMy name is Sami. My nationality is half Turkish and Arabic. I live in Canada and already moved in with my boyfriend Crisanto who has a half Filipino and Spanish origin.
Crisanto comes from a wealthy ancestry. He is a successful entrepreneur and is planning to take over his late father’s construction company.
I’m just a professional dance teacher. But he doesn’t care if I’m not rich like him because love is love!
After more than five years of a long-lasting relationship; I and my boyfriend are relocating to a new life in New York, USA.
We’re emotionally and financially ready to travel aboard. So, we decided to upgrade our lifestyle to the most powerful country in the world!
We both board the American Airlines flight with high adrenaline.
“I’m so stoked to be flying with you to our adventure aking mahal”-(means my love in Filipino.)
“Me too sinta we’re going to have the time of our life! With my promotion and inheritance, you won’t need to worry about saving any money; I’m going to buy you any designer bag you want! And we’ll even go to the Maldives!” (Sinta means darling.)
A sweet beam forms with a visible dimple on the right side next to my lips.
I clutch Crisanto’s warm hand and we get seated in first class with a welcome champagne and salted nuts for an appetiser. I caress my head on Crisanto’s shoulder and the plane takes off to America.
The flight is eight to nine hours maximum. I didn’t realise that halfway through the flight I slept like a baby because the oxytocin hormone elevates when you hug someone.
I woke up immediately to find my love but his seat was unattended. I jumped up with fear to search for him as if I lost him… I marched to the lavatory area at the front hall and little did I know I see him…
With one leg on the floor and a box with a solitaire ring sitting on the cushion waiting for me in his hand…
My mouth opened wide. I gasped and laughed from the shock and he is grinning and staring with his brown eyes fixed on me; looking crazy in love!
“My love Sami, the moment I saw you I knew you were the one and my soulmate. You’re perfect in every way. I want to be with you forever… Sami sinta, will you marry me?”
“You’re the man in my dreams of course I will marry you a million times! Mahal kita!” -(means I love you)
Crisanto inserts the gigantic diamond stoned ring into my ring finger. I hug him and he twirls me around in a sphere; almost shaking the plane up and down. I then kiss his plump lips with prolonged desire and passion.
The rest of the passengers gives our wedding proposal a round of applause! Everyone is cheering for us with fondness.
There are even other Filipino descents speaking in their language. It’s difficult to understand right now but I’m determined to learn it for my love! It will also make communication easier.
We both gaze at each other feeling the flammable drunk in love syndrome that we share to immortalise this special momentous…
“Mahal kita” I say to him.
“Mahal kita” he replies back.
Our new life in New York is perfect. We live in a penthouse. Crisanto’s entrepreneur business has taken off.
He has also found out that he is entitled to a ninety nine percent shareholder of his passed father’s construction company.
He now owns plenty of lands, farms and apartments from his inheritance because he is the only child in his family. So, he doesn’t need to work anymore.
For our honeymoon we decided to go to the Maldives. Like I always wanted. The turquoise beaches… ah…
After three years I give birth to my baby girl named Lara. We also decide to adopt a child for charity. Our happy family together continues to be perfect for a lifetime like a fairytale.
