Candles of the Night
Born 1997, F, from MO, United States.jpeg)
A light in the night,
So big and so bright,
Has gone out in my very sight.
The hole it leaves is so very hollow.
It swallows me up.
I wish I could follow.
A tear from mine own eye,
And I still do try,
To continue my part.
This has torn mine own heart.
So a candle I light this very eve,
To pacify my sorrows as I still grieve.
This light shall not replace those who are lost.
It will, however, ease the pain it has cost
A light in the night,
So big and so bright,
Has gone out in mine own sight.
I, too, will follow one beautiful day.
When does the day come?
I shall pray.
Till then, I light these very candles
And cry every night hanging tight to my own handle.
A light in the night,
So big and so bright,
Has gone out of mine own sight.
The hole it leaves is so very hollow.
It swallows me up.
I wish I could follow.
