Hello universe
With all your curious eyes
Whatever label you assign
We defy the disguise
One truth remains
Like a luminescence in the darkness
We're always under the microscope of your scrutiny

I know you're amazed
That despite the trials
Our faces still shine
With a fierce inner light
Our radiance will forever remain
An emblem of our unbroken will
Like the mighty Baobab, strong for ages
Our fortitude forged in fire

I wanted to let you know
In case you hadn't noticed
That's who we are
Who we've been
And Who we'll always be
A resilient people
Nourished by the blessings of our ancestors
Our spirits unshaken
Like the ancient Kilimanjaro that touches the sky
