Sadio Mane was a young boy who grew up in a poor village. He sold fruit in the village to feed his parents. Mane was getting so tired because he was working for almost twenty four hours a day. His father Ale works at a grocery store until midnight and then works in a factory during the day. His mother Monka takes care of the home and does not work. This situation made it very hard for him and for his parent’s to attain their needs and wants. They couldn’tpay their rent so they got an eviction notice from the landlord. When they heard this they even wanted to work harder than before. To make matters worse, Monka heard Mane was failing class and his teacher told them Mane can no longer continue his education unless he comes to school every day. His mom always told him she could sell the fruits and to not work 24 hours so he could focus on his education. However, Mane wanted to try to handle both school and work to support his family.
Mane was always a dreamer and wanted to become successful in football, but was not supported by his mom. Instead, she told him to focus on other important things like school and work, and to forget about his dreams. One day Mane asked his mom to buy him a pair of cleats to play because his coach told him he needed them. If he didn’t bring any cleats he either would sit and watchwhilethe kids are playing or he’d have to stay home. After Monka listened to Mane tell her about it, she refused to buy him a pair of cleats. She told him if he talks about the game or plays again she is going to stop him from playing, forever. Mane ran out of the house very upset and started crying.
When his father saw Mane crying he made him sit and ask him what happened. Mane told him that his mom was yelling at him saying she won’t buy the cleats. But when his father heard this, Mane's Father always was a supporter and told him he would buy him new cleats so he could follow his dreams. His father also wanted him to focus on his religion the most.
At the moment Monka got a message that said Mane can no longer come to school anymore. When she saw the message, her tears were falling down and she was disappointed by him, but her husband told her about Mane's talents and how he could reach success. After she heard her husband she believed in her son and told him he could follow his dream and she apologized to him. When he heard this he hugged her with tears of joy. Mane was encouraged by his parents and started working hard day and night to make it happen and he had faith to the end, no matter how much time it took. The boy started playing for a local team and broke the record for being only 15 years old to become a pro.
Now mane has become very successful and wealthy. The boy built over 100 hospitals, schools, and houses over the years in his poor village. He was signed by the most popular team because of his abilities. He also got a lot more fans than other players. He was loved because of his kindness, caring, and honesty to others.
During one game, he accidentally broke somebody's legs. After the injury he heard that the guy whom he tackled can’t play for the rest of the year. He cried a lot. He even left the game right away to the changing room to calm down because of the mistake. He destroyed somebody's dream. After many years passed, his parents passed away in a car accident and were in hospital for medical treatment. When he heard the news he traveled from where he was to bury them. When he got to the funeral he was crying like a little baby because it is hard to lose somebody that you know. Mane thought he was left alone but the priest told him that he had God with him. Mane listened to him and started working hard to make his life even better. Mane started to help people access safe water in his country by helping the government. He also built a statue of his parents to commemorate the thing his parents did for him. After he did a lot of things that day he wanted to rest so he went to bed. When he woke up he did not believe what he saw… ……. The End!!!!

12/25/2024It is fun to dream about being wonderful or successful, but if you add in the hard work, you can achieve great things. Not everyone has talent, but practice can go a long way towards overcoming that obstacle. I really liked this story about how Mane kept trying until he succeeded, then helped others.
