I wish you had some way to weave a happier or more uplifting ending to the dark theme but it's your story/poem to tell as you see fit. Sometimes when I write about a theme which is unpleasant, I find a way to turn things upsidedown so there is a positive twist to an otherwise disagreeable resolution, but everyone must pursue their own creative vision.
