To be Loved

To be loved,
Isn’t it what everyone wants?
To be loved for who we are,
It is what separates living from existing.

To be loved for all our flaws, Is
what makes the love we receive so precious.
To be loved, truly and genuinely, Is
perhaps the greatest chapter in anyone’s life.

And Yet,
Love is often treated so frivolous.
There is no greater tragedy in life,
Than to undermine the love that we receive.

Two people meet and fall in one,
And their lives begin to merge into one.
To remain one until forever, Is
The greatest luck we can have in life.

But,
And there’s always a but in Life, Even in Love.
Love doesn’t always end in a forever,
And there’s nothing we can do about it.

Love can be expressed in various forms,
There’s physical touch, acts of service
Spending quality time together or buying gifts,
Sometimes just sitting together in silence is all that is needed.

Finally,
Sometimes love demands to be let go.
And this is perhaps the hardest form of love,
To let go of someone, because of our love for them.

There’s a saying that if you love someone, you don’t let them go
That you hang on to them tight
No matter what happens in life,
You do not let go.

And yet, Such is the power of love,
That it demands to be let go.
To realize that our love for the person may bring them down instead of lifting them up
Must be one of the biggest heartbreaks in our life.

Love doesn’t have a guaranteed happy ending,
And finding that out for ourselves is the greatest misfortune in life.
That doesn’t mean it wasn’t worth it,
Nor does it mean it is hopeless.

Sometimes, Love demands Pain
And Pain demands to be felt.
It may sound like a vicious cycle,
But it’s a cycle that we should feel honoured to have been a part of.


There’s no greater honour in life than to be loved
And no matter how it ends
We should be truly grateful for the one who loved us
Even When we didn’t love ourselves.
