The labyrinth of love
M, from Bhagalpur Bihar, India.jpeg)
The Labyrinth of Love
There was an unspoken thirst in Neera’s eyes—a thirst for love. Life had given her many things, yet she had never felt the touch of true love. In the name of relationships, she had only received formalities, never intimacy.
Every evening, she would watch the setting sun from her window and wonder, "Will anyone ever reach the depths of my soul? Will I ever find the love that ends my search?"
But her life was nothing less than a labyrinth. Society’s expectations, family responsibilities, and her own conflicting emotions kept pushing her deeper into its maze.
One day, she met Aarav. Aarav was a writer who knew the art of touching hearts with the magic of words. His poetry carried an essence of love that began to pull Neera toward him.
Slowly, they became friends. For the first time, someone truly listened to Neera—without conditions. Aarav understood the unspoken questions in her heart, read the silence in her words.
Neera thought, "Maybe this is love—accepting without expectations, understanding without conditions."
But just when she decided to embrace this love, her labyrinth reactivated. Society’s restrictions, family traditions, and her own hesitation—everything started pulling her back.
Would she ever break free from this maze?
One day, Aarav told her, "Love doesn’t exist in a labyrinth, Neera. It liberates; it does not bind. If you want to find love, you must free yourself—from the thoughts and fears that hold you back."
That night, Neera asked herself, "Do I truly seek love, or just someone’s approval?"
And in that question, she found her answer. For the first time, she decided to take charge of her own life. She stopped looking for love outside and began searching for it within herself.
Her search wasn’t over, but now she knew—before finding love, one must first become worthy of it.
And that was her greatest victory.

03/20/2025Amazing take on love. Often we find ourselves wanting to be loved and forget that we must first love ourselves and then we will later be able to love others as well.

03/19/2025Yes, love starts from within. She needed to embrace and prioritise self-love to experience the best lover of her life. After all, one cannot give what they do not possess. Thank you for sharing!
