I met Aparna on a social networking site. As our conversations grew, I realized that despite being older than me, she was an intelligent, sensitive woman who viewed life with great depth. There was a calmness in her voice and an essence of experience in her words, something I hadn't found in women my age.

Gradually, I felt drawn to her. It wasn’t love—or maybe it was, but not in the way I understood it. I was captivated by her thoughts, her deep eyes, her laughter. But more than emotions, this attraction was physical. I wanted her; I wanted to lose myself in her presence.

One day, I asked her directly, “If I want to meet you, to be close to you, will you accept me?”

Aparna remained silent for a moment. Then, she gently said, “I understand your attraction, but I don’t want to be just a fleeting moment in someone’s life. Love, for me, is a feeling that I want to experience beyond just the body, within the soul. What do you truly want from me—a night in bed, or a connection with my soul?”

I had no answer. I was speechless. Perhaps I was feeling only a thirst, while she was searching for a relationship.

That night, for the first time, I asked myself—"Is this attraction, or love?"
