God and the Angel
Born 1978, F, from Fort Worth, Texas, United States.jpeg)
An angel sat on the edge of a rooftop, legs dangling over the side. He looked down at the humans below, watching them go about their lives. A gentle smile formed on his face.
“Heavenly Father, you were right,” the angel said softly. “Despite their flaws, humans truly are one of your greatest creations.”
“Yes, they are,” God replied. “That is why I give them many chances to redeem themselves. They are capable of great things. I want them to know that no matter what they’ve done, they can always come back to Me. I will always be there.”
The angel’s smile deepened.
“If it is your will, Father, I would like to walk among them,” the angel said. “As you did—as your Son, and as the other angels have before me.”
God answered, “I will tell you this… You already have.”
The angel’s eyes widened. “I have?”
“Yes,” God said gently. “You have.”
“Then... may I return?”
“You may.”

God summoned the angel to stand before Him.
“Yes, Yahweh?” the angel asked.
“I am sending you to Earth, as you know,” God said.
“Yes,” the angel replied, his tone reverent.
“There, you will take on two roles,” God continued.
“What will they be?”
“You have a gift for words and a creative mind. So, you will serve as an editor at a small, yet meaningful publishing house. I want you to find those who have something to say—stories that deserve to be heard, whether they speak of truth or imagined worlds.”
The angel nodded, warmth rising in his chest. “I am honored to do so.”
God smiled—His presence radiating peace.
“Your second role,” He said, “will be as a messenger of My word. In time, I want you to create a commission—one that spreads My message and nurtures unity, love, hope, faith, and creativity.”
“What shall I call this commission?” the angel asked.
“I will leave that to you. There is no need to rush. In due time, I will tell you when it is time to begin.”
The angel bowed his head. “I understand, Yahweh. I am ready when You are.”
And with that, the angel was whisked away—sent once more into the world of men.
