Big Ronnie didn’t like it when Old Job bought a nightclub called The Place
He buckled on his knuckle dusters to rearrange his face
Jumped in his Ford capri and wheel spinned up the street
Gonna teach Old Job that, man, he really was obsolete
But Old Job was no fool and he owned a gun or two
If he had to use them then well that is what he’d do
They found Big Ronnies Capri burnt out in a quarry
Seems Big Ronnie paid the price for his rage and folly

Ronnie junior was deranged by the murder of his dad
Swore his vengeance on the man with every curse he had
But being more cautious about these bloody villains of old
He decided that vengeance was a dish enjoyed more when cold
So old Job soon noticed that stock seemed to be misplaced
And familiar faces seemed to have disappeared and could not be traced
the eastern gangs were hungry to take over his activities
He assumed they were picking away at his vulnerabilities

Then Ronnie Junior rang him and said they could help each other
The eastern gangs were getting bold and causing him some bother
He said if they pooled their troops they could finish them for good
To their mutual benefit, so Old Job agreed they should
They settled on a date where they would attack the gang’s Headquarters
Ronnie even told him that they would bring both guns and mortars
Old Job looked forward to settling this old score
It seemed the eastern problem would be solved for evermore

But as soon as the arrangements made, Ronnie rang the leader of that gang
Told him that Old Job was planning to take them out with a bang
Told him the date and time Old Job was going to push
Suggested that it might be wise to arrange a good ambush
So when Old Jobs troops turned up on that evil night
They found themselves surrounded and in a big firefight
The eastern gang wiped them out almost to the last
Old Job was left hanging from a telephone mast

Ronnie junior was satisfied that revenge was well and truly done
So he sold up his business and retired to the sun
But murder on this scale brought out the best of Major Crime
Who rounded up the eastern gang and jailed them all in time
Now Young Job found himself the owner of The Place
And set it up as headquarters of what he called “the chase”
He was determined to find Ronnie Junior and have him pursued
And this world keeps on turning to the pulse of a family feud…
