Activisim is now a Dirty Word

Activism is now a dirty word. Growing up I was encouraged to be active for those who could not speak up or stand up for themselves.

Peaceful protest were the norm. Now a protest, peaceful or otherwise could land me in Jail.

I have read many accounts of People being arrested in the past for protesting against their Governments. These were Countries like
Russia, Germany and Chile. These people may have disappeared while their Families have no closure.

Is this where America is heading? Are we becoming a Third World Country? Will we go the way of North Korea, Cuba, Vietnam and other Countries?

Basic Humans rights may soon have no meaning. Human Rights like Housing, Health Care, a Liveable wage no longer apply to anyone who doesn’t conform.

I hope not, but speaking up for others may be a Death Nell for anyone who doesn’t fit the new meaning of conformity.
