DANNY'S WORST BIRTHDAY
Little Danny was in a very happy that morning. With good reason he had too. It was his tenth birthday.

He wanted the whole day to be perfect, though that wasn’t to be. Far from perfect in fact.

To begin with, Danny’s parents, Rosie and Billy, came into his room carrying presents. They sang happy birthday to their son.

Danny opened his presents one by one. He had a pair of new trainers, a new football, a Harry Potter t-shirt, a Harry Potter mug and an electric trainset.

His seven-year-old brother, Dylan, then entered, followed by Spike, the family Labrador puppy.

That was when things started to go wrong – very wrong.

Spike grabbed one of the trainers, shook it and carried it out of the room.

The mayhem continued at breakfast, when Spike played up. He grabbed the table cloth and pulled it right off. Plates and cups smashed and food and drink went everywhere.

Bad enough that was, but it didn’t end there.

When everyone went to the beach, things got worse.

Dylan ruined Danny’s sand castles and Spike made a right mess of the picnic.

If things couldn’t get any worse than that, well, they did.

When everyone got home, Danny and his father had a kick about in the back garden, but Dylan brought Spike out.

The dog chewed up the ball and sent Danny and Billy sprawling on the grass.

Later on, there was a party.

All the food and drink, including a Harry Potter cake, was on the table and balloons were up.

A mouth-watering sight – a sight, which didn’t last.

Once again, Dylan brought Spike into the act.

The dog grabbed the table cloth and pulled it off. Cutlery smashed and the well-prepared food and drink went everywhere.

Things did not improve for Danny in the evening.

One, because Spike chewed up his other trainer and his Harry Potter t-shirt and two, because Dylan broke his electric trainset.

So Danny’s birthday, was a total disaster.

A very disastrous birthday! Maybe you can write a part two when Danny turns 11? Does it get better or (somehow!) even worse? Thanks for sharing your story with us!

It gets even worse. Good idea about writing a second one. Thank you.

Love it. Sometimes parties just don't work out.
