At World's End

Janner, Raven, Phoenix, and Alex all sat around and looked me in the eyes. It was Raven who spoke.
"Tell us your story Mom."These children meant the world to me, although only two of them were biologically mine, the twins Raven and Phoenix. I sighed if being a mom has taught me anything it is that you need to sometimes go out of your comfort zone.
“Alright,”I shook my head and turned, getting a far off look.
“First off I’m not from this universe or dimension. The world I came from was filled with creatures and magic. I had 2 brothers, Mathew and Shawn. I also had a mom and dad. I even had a crush, named Kaz. I was happy, until my brother Shawn was killed by a vampire. Not long after my parents were killed by the same vampire. After that it was just my brother Mathew and I. Our dimension collapsed on itself and only I escaped. Or so I thought. I later ran into Kaz and we started dating. What I didn’t realize was that Kaz had another side to him. That side came out and he hurt me both physically and…”My voice broke and I felt tears streaming down my cheeks. I turned to look directly at Phoenix and Raven.
“That man is your father.” Their eyes widened.
“After that I found my brother Mathew’s spirit. We became close again, but he also met Kaz through me. We had broken up after a pretty bad fight. They fell in love and got married. I was alone again Kaz, Mathew, and I haven’t really spoken since they got married. I have been alone ever since. Except for you guys.” I got up and hugged each of them. Then we heard a loud roar.
“Neptune.” I whispered softly and disappeared into the forest to help my friend. Everyone saw him as a monster so he played the part. What they didn’t know was that he had a much darker story than they could possibly understand…
