Revenge!
This chilling homicide story is about a wealthy British family. Their royal surname is called Sussex. They were a family of financial power, hidden secrets, and crimes. The guilt, revenge, and punishment will give you the goosebumps!

Warning: this crime thriller will go nowhere good but it will teach you invaluable life lessons!

5 April, 2001

As of the 5th of April, 2001, a cold case was remained unsolved. Stanley Sussex, a father of two, from Richmond, London, accidentally murdered a nineteen year old young man named Ayden Smith in a multi vehicle collision and pile up.

Stanley was speeding 120km on the M25 motorway because he got a phone call from the principal (Mr McDonald) saying that his son (Brett) was getting bashed up at school.

Ayden was following his father (Charlie Smith) when they were going to a friend’s house (Peter Cooper). But they didn’t know the directions to get there so Charlie was viewing the road atlas since there was no accessible iPhone maps or a GPS in the early twentieth century.

There was an accident going on so Stanley was an alibi (not at that scene) but he made a tailgate. He tried to hit the brakes to slow down but he failed to stop the car so he collided sideways ramming in a car in front of him and it flew and rolled over four times.

Ayden’s car was extremely damaged and he got severe trauma to his body and skull because it split into two so he lost his life on the scene. Other drivers in the front tail queue also got moderately injured. Including Ayden’s father.

Stanley felt no remorse or conscience so he attempted a bribery scandal. He lent Charlie one million pounds hush money from his business bag in exchange of fleeing from jail.

He also threatened him if one day he squeals, by telling the truth to the police, he would withdraw all the money back and collapse his fundings in bankruptcy.

At first, Charlie was shocked and he refused it but then he had to accept his offer because he needed financial assistance to pay for his eighty four year old sick mother’s (Rose Smith) heart transplant.

His mum was special for him after he lost his wife for forty years (Matilda Smith) to breast cancer, he got closer with his mum. And since it was a fortune, he couldn’t say no. But this didn’t mean Charlie would not be coming after him for Ayden’s justice. So that’s how their trade was confirmed. Fugitive Stanley then hit and ran ages ago to save his son.

An anonymous called the police and ambulance but they arrived twenty one minutes later to the scene so it was too late. They couldn’t identify the whodunit but further investigations were going to be made.

Charlie kept silent when he gave a false statement to the police because he made a deal with Stanley. Despite that the police kept insisting to ask if there was anymore detail, Charlie insisted to lie by saying that he did not see the driver who crashed into Ayden because he had no other choice.

Later that evening, Evelyn Sussex (Stanley’s wife) was traumatised from the incident when she heard what happened. Stanley told her everything because they were so close. She tried to go to the Lavender Hill police station to tell the truth because she felt so bad for Ayden but Stanley stopped her.

He convinced Evelyn that being free is better than being apart and going to jail. Evelyn had suspense that the police were going to find out one day that he was guilty. She loved her husband and would hide anything for his freedom. All the Sussex family ever cared for was their corruption and success by their trusted money power.

9 September, 2004

Isabella and Brett Sussex were two teenagers; (siblings); fourteen and fifteen years of age. In year group ten and eleven. They went to a private secondary school called Kensington Park. And battled through their puberty mood swings and irresponsible choices.

They were considered the only innocent people of the Sussex family. Isabella was just a regular girl. She fell in love with a guy named Tyler Adams at school. So, she had boyfriend issues.

She was breaking up on and off because he was just using her for financial gain but she always gave him several chances and forgave him because she loved him. And she hoped that he will change one day.

Evelyn disapproved their relationship because Tyler Adams was a gold digger and he was abusing Isabella by manipulation to exploit and have access to her money. But of course, Isabella didn’t listen to her mother because she was too young to understand and so affectionately in love.

Brett on the other hand was a troublesome guy. He got bullied and bashed up from a guy in his class named (Luke Garcia the leader bully) for his pimples (acne) and “four eyed glasses” as Luke teased him. Stanley tried to support his son and he taught him how to stick up for himself emotionally and physically.

But Brett was very skinny in weight and Luke’s bully group were overweight so he couldn’t do much self-defence. Mr McDonald was well aware about everything but didn’t do much to support or give the bullies detention or a suspension because everyone in the school hated the “nerdy Brett” as they teased him.

Despite that he was the son of a rich family, Brett was very humble as a person so not many people knew that he was rich because he always tried to hide it from everyone.

Evelyn was occupied with shopping and gossiping with her friends everyday and Stanley was entertaining himself with a lavish lifestyle by expensive boat cruising with his mates. So, they didn’t show much attention and were insufficient to fulfil their parenting duties. Their money power also made their eyes blind.

But Stanley hired a spy agent (detective) to watch over Luke Garcia’s family trying to search for any faults so that he can destroy them.

And once again, Stanley would do anything for his son’s happiness. Evelyn also tried to communicate with Brett several times but Brett would never open up to his mother let alone anyone. He just wanted to isolate himself to shut everyone out.

Due to the fact that Brett was getting beaten up at school, he was so sad and depressed that he had thoughts of committing suicide. This was the borderline for him. He had already planned his death. And it was jumping in front of a train.

On the 10th of September, he firstly left a dying message on the table and went out but he couldn’t die because when he arrived at the King’s Cross train station, all the trains were out of service because of a strike. So, he had to postpone his suicidal plan to another day. He also didn’t tell anyone about it.

From time to time, Charlie felt regret that he accepted the money instead of pressing full charges on him for Stanely to be locked up in jail. But he had to surrender for Rose. She was the only thing that was stopping him.

Charlie missed Matilda so much. He was also following the Sussex family ever since Ayden’s death. It was four years without his only child that was through test tube (IVF process). That’s why Ayden was very special for him. No amount of money could ever replace him. So, he decided to get closer to Brett for his revenge.

So, he got a job at his Kensington Park secondary school’s canteen. Brett always got his hot dog and juice for lunch so they were chatting together closely and Charlie handed him his food.

On the 20th of September, sixteen minutes after Brett ate his lunch and drink, he fell ill. He began to get dizziness, nausea, chest pain and was sweating with difficulty breathing. So, Isabella escorted him to the sick room.

The nurse (Mrs Mina Swanson) spent too much time with first aid trying to figure out what was wrong without dialling 999 for an ambulance earlier. Mrs Swanson obviously didn’t know the whodunit.

It was a very difficult scene for his sister because he got unconscious in her arms. She was crying in heartbreak. And hoped that he was going to be okay. Mrs Swanson also comforted her.

So, the ambulance arrived at 12:45pm and he was hospitalised at the St Mary’s Hospital. Isabella’s parents immediately rushed to the hospital when she contacted them about Brett’s condition.

Unfortunately, Brett Sussex passed away from a heart failure. His day and time of death was on the 20th of September, 2004, at 1:11pm.

The surgeons were going to perform the procedure to clean his stomach but it was too late he had already passed away because something toxic spread to his whole body and he suffered a heart failure before he even got into the emergency department.

Brett’s corpse was sent to the laboratory for the autopsy. And then was put back in the morgue ready to be buried. Two hours later, the results were revealed.
The culprit was clear. Charlie Smith the suspect, injected scorpion venom in his drink to murder him. He knew it was highly toxic and that he wouldn’t make it without the antidote or a stomach clean up sooner.

This was his planned copycat crime. So, he thought Ayden can rest in peace knowing that his revenge was taken. But then his conscience attacked him. After all, he was no inhuman like Stanley. He just wanted his son’s justice. He never even had a criminal record before because he was just a decent man and father.

When the doctor told the Sussex family about the sad news, Evelyn and Isabella were shaken from their grief and loss. But Stanley couldn’t accept this punishment because he knew like the palm of his hand that he was guilty of murdering Ayden Smith.

And he was certain that Charlie was guilty of murdering his son because he was an intelligent man. He was well aware of the mistake he did in the accident back in 2001.

Charlie came to the hospital too because his conscience ached. He was going to apologise to the Sussex family. On the same day of Brett’s death, Stanley made a riot scene and yelled at Charlie saying: “how dare you poison my son!” by taking hold of his collar.

Charlie replied: “you killed my son!” but then he said sorry and that he didn’t mean it because it was out of revenge. He also said that he was not a bad person. But it didn’t bring back Brett so, Stanley Sussex furiously took out his gun and by targeting his forehead, he shot Charlie Smith at the hospital and then ran away.
Charlie lost his life as a victim offender overlap.

The hospitals security guard caught Stanley and he called the police so he was arrested and handcuffed forcefully and taken into custody. He was also mumbling swear words with anger.

Due to the fact that there were eye witnesses from patients and doctors in the hospital, and considering the loud gun shot, he didn’t get away with his crime this time even though he tried to run away.

Evelyn was shocked about what kind of a man she married. She was going to file a report to the police saying that Stanley was guilty of murdering Ayden too but decided to remain silent because she thought it’s unnecessary.

Since Stanley is already going to jail there’s no need to double the punishment. And she hoped that he’ll learn his lesson. Isabella was also mourning her brother and all she did was cry in the morgue room next to her brother’s dead body.

Brett’s funeral also took place on the 22nd of September. The police prohibited Brett’s father to attend his son’s funeral because of his criminal offence.

On the 23rd of September, Stanley appeared at the Royal Courts of Justice. Firstly, the judge asked him about the backstory with Charlie and the reason why he attempted murder but he kept silent. Secondly, he was asked if he had any regret but Stanley did not plead guilty whatsoever. In fact, he denied all the accusations.

So, the judge charged Stanley Sussex with manslaughter and a sentence of life imprisonment; at the HMP Brixton Prison. So, a harsh but fair judgement was applied for him.

On the 25th of September, 2004, Stanley still had no regret about anything that he did. But one thing that he couldn’t bear was his failure. So, he was found hanged in the toilet room by his inmate (Bob Brown). Evelyn and Isabella screamed and cried when they were told by the guardian about his suicidal attempt.

Evelyn Sussex lost a son and became a heartbroken widow. Isabella Sussex was fatherless and lost a sibling. They both took psychological therapy for the traumas they faced to heal their crushed souls.

After the pain of the long-term mourning got lighter, Evelyn decided that she will never do the same mistakes her late husband did. That is, no escaping with money and no avoiding punishments without learning the lesson. Isabella followed her advice too.

The wealthy British Sussex family paid for all the prices of their sins. They might have lost two lives but was cleared from evil. At least in this life. In the next life, God’s fair justice will be delivered to all the victims and wrongdoers.

reads like a gossip instead of a proper crafted "show not tell" shot story.
