Story JESUS LOVES THE LITTLE CHILDREN
Born 1960, F, from San Antonio Texas, United States
The Story behind Jesus Loves the Little Children comes from an account found in the New Testament of the Bible.
In the biblical story, people were bringing their young children to Jesus so that he would place his hands on them, bless them, and pray for them.
However, the disciples, perhaps thinking the children were a bother rebuked the parents and tried to turn them away. When Jesus saw what was happening,
He told them:
"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it."
Jesus then took the children in his arms, and blessed them, emphasizing that children are valuable in God's eyes and that everyone should approach God with humble, childlike faith and trust.
The phrase also gained popularity as a hymn lyric written by C. Herbert Woolston in the late 19th century. The sentiment of the popular children's hymn "Jesus Loves the Little Children" is directly rooted in this biblical narrative. The lyrics were written by Reverend C. Herbert Woolston in 1895 and set to the Civil War tune "Tramp! Tramp!
Woolston, a white minister in Philadelphia after the Civil War, was reportedly saddened by the racial prejudice within his own congregation, where adults would separate themselves and their children from diverse groups attending his services.
Woolston was a pastor, gospel songwriter, and sleight-of-hand magician, Woolston claimed that he had “addressed many more than 1,000,000 children.

Under his leadership, “the congregation grew from 176 members to more than 1,000” At the celebration of fifty years of ministry (March 20, 1923), his congregation gave him $2,000 for a European trip with his friend, Homer A. Rodeheaver. Rodeheaver was also the publisher of his most famous hymn.
Woolston also authored Seeing Truth: A Book of Object Lessons with Magical and Mechanical Effect.

Other books include Penny Object Lessons , and The Bible Object Book: A Book of Object Lessons Which Are Different, Written in Plain English and in Common Words.
Woolston married Agnes Claire Worrall. According to his obituary, he was “stricken with motor aphasia a month after his congregation helped him celebrate the fortieth anniversary of his pastorate at the church. He died not long after his seventy-first birthday.
Jesus loves the little children,
All the children of the world.
Red and yellow, black and white,
They are precious in his sight,
Jesus loves the little children of the world.
I always Imagined Children from Different races, and different Countries in this simple Child’s song.
