My wedding proposal at the beach

My wedding proposal at the beach
In Australia, January is a summer season. Today Melbourne’s inner western suburb is scorching hot, thirty seven degrees Celsius at- Williamstown beach.

I and my Indian boyfriend Raj, for seven years, rejoice in bliss by swimming and pressing our barefoot feet in the mushy sand. Raj is getting a bronze tan shirtless; while I’m in my leopard bikini reading my book, Fifty Shades of Grey.

I mean it’s not that Raj is white he already has a brown skin tone so despite that, he still loves to get sunshine on his flaming flesh! I’m a brunette too but not as much as him. We also share the same hair colour which is chocolate brown.

We enjoyed the whole day at the beach plage. It was just a regular day for me. Our usual beach day- well that’s what I thought. Until something spellbound happened!

In the tranquil evening, all the crowded beachgoers went back home. Melbourne weather is very changeable. That’s why the cool breeze gave my shoulders the shivers so we changed into our casual clothes and it was just us left laying down on the sticky sun lounges with the plastic beach umbrella on top.

The purpose is to provide shelter protection from the Australian sun’s harmful UV rays which causes skin cancer. I cuddled in Raj’s arms before the early hours of the sunset. Watching the soothing waves crash gently like the sound of white noise’s dripping trickled water.

We got thirsty so I fancied to buy two Sex on the Beach Vodkas. I went to a pub called Atomic bar in Williamstown. While I was there, I saw a friend. We did some catching up so I spent approximately twenty minutes to come back.

By the time I came back, I catch his gaze and melted in his love because I saw that Raj had already organised a surprise dinner table. Hired with a violinist and saxophonist; both standing at the two corners of the table; playing our song, Careless Whisper by George Michael in a slow, romantic version.

I was shocked because it was so unexpected. I couldn’t resist but beam with euphoria! I walked closer towards him. I placed our beverages on the table. And noticed the cinnamon aroma of the candlelight’s and sunflowers, my favourite flower.

We’ve been together for seven years so, Raj knows me very well that’s why he chooses every gift in the exact perfect way that I like, as always! By the way, I also hoped that this surprise will turn into a wedding proposal because we’ve been together long enough, so I thought now is the time. And he did just that!

During the serene sunset, Raj got down on one knee, presenting a five carat diamond and large solitaire pear ring in a red box with LED light flashing in my protruding honey eyes!

He lifts up his head high, studying me, amber eyes full of love and asks,
“Seni, you’re the most beautiful, wise, and artistic women I have ever seen in my life! I’m so lucky to have you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you because you’re my soulmate. Seni, will you marry me?” he proposed to me with a meaningful speech. He was always good with words!

I stroke his sunburnt face while droplets of bead sweats were dripping down his temples.

“This has always been my dream- to find my soulmate. And now I’m so thankful that I’ve finally found you! You’re so perfect in every way. And this is exactly how I wanted my ring to be!”
“Yeah, I know we planned it together. So, what do you say?” he got so impatient to hear my reply!
“Yes of course I would marry you! Always and forever!” I finally spoke.

Raj grinned and inserted the overwhelmingly sparkling ring in my ring finger. I kissed and hugged him with a heart full of love. Our song finished playing and classical violin music began to play.

A few nearby walkers saw my proposal too. They took photos/videos and offered their warmest congratulations while they walked pass us. Some people also stopped by to clap and giggle.

“But this is not the end, the best part is this…” he showed me a large silver present box from underneath the table, tied up with a bow knot using a white ribbon.

“Open it” he said.
I opened it and I view my curly ruffle bridal dress with a love heart neckline!
“Oh my God it’s so beautiful exactly the way I wanted it!”
“I’m so happy that you love it!” he smiled broadly.
“I love you so much my love” I said.
“I love you too” he said.

The Citrine sun went down. We ate, drank, danced and celebrated our special event until the sky got pitch black.

That was beautiful and very romantic! I liked that you described so well what she was smelling, seeing, thinking as well.
