A Leap of faith
Born 1976, F, from Ennis, county clare, Ireland
Sylvia Moronda was a person who loved a lot of things. She was a curious person and that led to getting to know people. There was only one problem, her career didn't allow her to have a social life that reflected her personality.
As the years progressed she loved her job less and less.
She reflected one day about her life.
"I don't love this job anymore. Is there something else that I am good or gifted at?"
One day she bought an encyclopaedia of the human body. "I love Science and Art she said. "I wouldn't be here but for Science, and Art gives us a release mechanism from the worries of the world.
She thought about it long and hard for days on end. It eventually dawned on her that “Science is all around us. It is a vast subject with many subsections.” “Maths is connected with Science. We have to use our logical brain to work out how to solve a problem.”
As the days progressed, she thought about her connection to science. She was in a café one day and a man introduced himself to her: “Hello my name is Eric Smith. I love Science too. I also like Art and Drawing. I too have been misunderstood by my family.”
Sylvia replied: “It is nice to meet you. Can we continue to get to know each other over a tea or coffee?”
Eric replied:“Yes, I feel we have a connection through Science. A subject we are both interested in.”
