DESTROYED BY THE EMPIRE
Born 1988, M, from ENGLAND, United Kingdom
It was another peaceful day on the Alderaan.
People were happily getting on with their daily lives. Children were playing with pure joy in their hearts.
Bail Organa and his wife Breha, were standing on a palace balcony, gazing out at the mountains.
Unlike everyone else, they were not in high spirits – Bail especially.
They were gravely concerned about Princess Leia, who was tied up in Imperial matters, involving the Empire.
Night and day, they feared for her safety.
To add to things, Bail and Breha were waiting for Obi- Wan Kenobi to turn up with R2-D2. Desperate they were to lay hands on the plans that would help the Rebellion destroy the dreaded Death Star.
Furthermore, they feared that Obi-Wan might fail in his mission. That the Empire would show up.
Their worst fears were realized, when the Death Star appeared out of hyperspace directly above.
The sudden appearance of the battle station aroused feelings of curiosity and dread inside all those on the planet who could see it.
People started muttering among themselves.
“What is that thing, Mum?” a little girl near the palace asked.
“I don’t know Celene, but I don’t like the look of it.”
“It looks like some kind of space station,” a young man said.
“Some space station, Dad,” said a little boy by his side.
“Are we being invaded?” a woman asked.
No one knew the dreadful truth – no one except Bail and Breha.
“The Empire is upon us,” Bail said.
“Just as we feared,” said Breha.
“Alderaan is lost.”
“Let us hope that Leia is not on that battle station.”
“May the Force be with her, wherever she is.”
“May the Force be with the Rebellion too.”
“If the Rebellion still exists.”
Neither Bail, nor Breha had the faintest suspicion, that at that moment, Princess
Leia was on the Death Star, in the evil clutches of Darth Vader.
That she was about to witness the destruction of Alderaan.
“You may fire when ready,” Tarkin said.
Cries of terror sounded from Alderaan, as the Death Star’s laser beam struck planet.
Then it was all fire, as Alderaan exploded.
Meanwhile, on board the Millennium Falcon, a feeling of dread came over Obi-Wan.
“I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.”
