The canteen was louder than usual. It was filled with restless energy. Students laughed, swapped yearbooks, and made plans for the long summer ahead. At one corner table, a group of friends were discussing their summer plan.

Emily: “What should we do this summer, should we go on a trip?”

Claire: “You’ve got something in your mind?”

Laura: “What if we go sleepover at my cousin’s house? She’s really nice and the best things is she lives alone.”

Emily: “So, that’s the choice. Are you in Claire?”

They all agreed and they already started planning for their summer. After school, they went their home and packed their things for the sleepover. That night, they went to Laura’s cousin’s house and they rang the doorbell, but no one answered.

At that moment Laura received a message from her cousin Scarlet. It said:

“Hay, I need to go out for a while. You guys can go inside, I left the keys under the flower pot beside the front door. I’ll be back tomorrow, have fun guys!”

They unlocked the door and they went inside the house. It was really dark, so they tried to turn on the light but they couldn’t find the switch. Her friends started getting nervous, and Laura stamp her feet on the floor two times. After she stamped, all the lights in the house turned on.

Now they can see clearly. The house looked too simple it has everything a house should has. They grabbed their stuff and they walked inside. When they went upstairs, it was really different from the living room. The walls filled with bookshelf, packed with old journals and strange psychical books.

Claire: “Why does your cousin have this weird stuff? Does she like collecting these things or something?”

Laura: “I don’t know. People say she’s a witch, but I never seen she did bad things. Plus, she’s really nice to me. Even if she is a witch, she’d be a good one and I’m definitely sure about it.”

Emily: “Let’s take our places guys. We have a lot to do. Where should we start board games?”

Claire: “Sound good! But let’s play downstairs. This place makes me feel sleepy.”

Emily: “Agreed”

Laura: “Don’t be so dramatic guys. Let’s just start our sleepover.”

They started playing board game, but Claire couldn’t stop looking at her phone screen. Emily slapped her arm.

Emily: “Are you gonna play or not? It’s your turn!”

Claire: “I don’t know. I’m getting bored. It’s been an hour. I found a cool game on the internet wanna play?”

Laura: “What it is?”

Claire looked really excited to explained what she found.

Claire: “Have you ever heard of Red door, Yellow door game? It’s not a question you don’t have to answer. They say this game is really dangerous and should never be played.”

Emily: “So let’s not play”

Claire: “Don’t be a scaredy-cat. People keep playing it, and I’ve never heard someone die. It just people saying things to get attention. They say you can really travel through doors; Let’s find out if it’s real. It would be fun.”

Laura and Emily looked at each other. They recoiled at first, but then they agreed. Claire started explaining the rules seriously. She didn’t look like she was joking.

“Ok, here are some rules. Stay away from dark rooms. Do not talk to the man who wears suite and avoid the room clocks or mirrors. Do not go downstairs, only go up.”

“First, we need two people the guide and the traveler. Once your head is in the guide’s lap and you’re lying on your back, close your eyes. Raise your hands up in the air and keep them there as you try to relax.”

The light in the room was pale, brazier reflected on their faces, and the red light from the camera is blinking. Emily is lay on Claire’s lap and she raise her arm, Claire’s messaged her temples and whispered:

“Red door, yellow door any other color doors……Red door, yellow door any other color doors…. Red door yellow door any other color doors….”
Claire kept whispering and Emily’s hand started going down. Claire looked at the Laura.

Claire: “It’s working”

Laura: “Ask something”

Claire: “Emily, do you see something?”

Emily: “I see a house it’s morning, and there’s a forest behind it. Am I support to go inside?”

Claire: “Yes, can you see any doors. What color are they?”

Emily: “I don’t see doors Claire. I can only see a front door and its red.”

Claire: “Ok, go inside”

Emily went inside and she was surprise it look like her old house before she moved to the town. She walked around. It was so empty and there is no excitement.

Emily: “There is nothing here Claire. It looks like my old house. I’m getting bored. I want to stop”.

Claire sighed. “You get bored easily Emily, just wake up”.

After she said Emily woke up and said to Laura “There is no dangerous, you should try”.

Laura sat quietly and didn’t answer.

Emily: “Come on Laura, is summer let’s have fun. I’ve already tried nothing happened.”

Laura sighed deeply and agreed. “Okay, I will do it”

Claire: “Don’t worry, my friend. You are in the good hands, I’ll be with you the whole time. Just follow my voice and remember the rules, okay?”

Laura lay down on Claire’s lap. Suddenly, it raining and lightning lit up the entire room. Laura face started really pale and she about to cry.

Emily: “Don’t be a scaredy-cat Laura, it’s just a storm.”

Claire: “Hay, you stole my line”

Laura laughed and she looked more relaxed. Claire started messaging her temples and began the game.

Laura was standing inside a house. Heavy rain poured outside, and the trees swayed violently in the storm. She felt like she had forgotten something. Suddenly, she heard her friend calling her name.

Claire: “Laura... Laura... can you hear me?”

Laura: “Yes, I can hear you, I’m in a house I’ve never seen and there is a storm outside”

Claire: “Oh my god, I thought you wouldn’t answer me. Are you okay? What does the house look like? Do you see doors?”

Laura: “Humm, I’m okay. The house, it looks like a normal house nothing wired. Oh, I see a door. It’s purple”

Claire: “Go inside. Can you open it?”

Laura tried to open the door but it wouldn’t open. She looked around and saw stairs. She walked near the stairs and looked up. They seem endless, she couldn’t see the roof. Still, she decided to go up.

Laura: “It won’t open. But I see stairs, I’m going up”

Claire: “If you see anything strange, tell me, okay?”

Laura kept going up. The stairs began to look like an apartment building. Numbers were written on the walls 1...2...3...4…. She stopped at a number 11 and she saw a green door. This time it wasn’t locked. When the door opened, she heard children giggling, she walked through that door. She felt sand under her feet. She saw a playground, children are running and playing, she heard the giggling but no one is smiling or laughing. When they notice she walked in they stopped and every child in that room staring at her.

Laura: “I… I see children, they’re staring at me.” Her voice was shaking and can barely heard.

Claire: “Don’t let them close. Leave now!”

Laura ran from that door and she started going downstairs. The stairs looked longer than before. She couldn’t catch her breath. Her body was tried and she breath really fast. Claire and Emily started worried.

Emily: “What’s happening? Claire, do something!”

Claire: “I don’t know! Laura, what are you doing answer me!”

Laura: “I’m going down, I want to leave. I’m trying to reach the front door”

Claire: “Wait! You’re not support to go down that’s the rule Laura you need to go up”

Laura: “Relax, Claire. I can see the living room.”

Laura voice sounded so relax and she doesn’t look scare anymore. When she stepped on the final stair, she heard a sound of the waterfall it was really beautiful, it’s even look like singing. She fallowed the sound and stopped in front of the blue door, the color even looks like the sea. Suddenly she remembered something it was a purple door when she first came.

Laura: “Do you remember the purple door? It’s blue now, I hear the waterfall behind it. It’s really beautiful”

Claire: “Can you open it? Go inside”

Laura opened the door. The room was dark and empty except from glowing painting. The sound came from it and it’s moving. Inside that painting, a waterfall and a glowing cave. She saw something in that cave. A man, he was painting.
Suddenly that man turned his head and look at her.

She panicked and tried to open the door, but it won’t moved. Her body outside is shaking and the light are started flickering. Emily and Claire started worry, their face look really pale. Emily held Laura hand and tried to wake her up. She shake Laura body but she won’t wake up.

Emily: “Laura, wake up! Laura! Laura!

Laura: “I can’t! Help me, Emily. I’m scare.”

Claire: “Relax, Laura try open that door. You can do it girl, try again”

Laura kept shaking the door and finally opened. She fell to the floor and look through the window, the storm was stopped. She tried to get up and she smelled coffee from the kitchen. She fallowed it to the kitchen and she saw a lady sitting on the chair and drinking her coffee. She wore a black dress with white lace trim and her hair falling on her shoulder like a wave, she even looked like she jump out of the black and white movie. That lady stared at Laura and smile at her and invite her to drink coffee with her.

“Come dear, drink coffee with me.”

Laura didn’t say anything, she walked to that lady and sat in front of that lady. The lady pouring coffee into a delicate cup for Laura. Laura lifted her coffee near her lip. At that time, she remembered something she not support to here she was on a sleepover with her friends. She stood up suddenly and running to the front door. She tried to open the door but it won’t open and she heard the lady behind her.

“Where are you going, dear? Don’t you like your coffee you didn’t even touch it”

Laura can’t even move, there is nowhere to escape. She trapped and started crying, screaming for help.

Laura: “Emily! Claire! Help! I don’t want to play anymore wake me up please.”
Her friend tried to wake her up but she can’t. The lady in front of her keep closer to her and the lady’s hand almost reach her neck. She scream and woke up, her whole body was wet by sweat. She saw her friends looking at her and help her to get up. The storm outside is still raging.

Emily: “Are you ok? You are safe now.”

Claire: “I’m so sorry, I never shouldn’t let you play.”

Emily: “Yea, I’m sorry too Laura”

At that time, a loud thunderclap sounded. They screamed in fright, they look each other and laugh. The doorbell was ringing. Scarlet is coming home; Laura was so happy and can’t wait to share her experience. She ran to the door and opened, she froze and can’t even move an inch. It was black and white lady, was staring and smiling at her. She fell down to the floor and her friends ran to her and help her to get up but she was so scare to move.
“What happen Laura, get up”

Laura: “It is the lady I saw in the doors”

Tears falling on her face, the lady walked into the house.

“Dear why don’t you finished your coffee, is that your friends? Is okay, I have enough coffee for your friends come join me”

Their scream swallowed by the thunderstorm and their existence disappeared in the rain. The camera lying on the floor and pointing to the front door, the red light on the camera blinking.
