THE VOICE OF QUI-GON JINN
Born 1988, M, from ENGLAND, United Kingdom
A year had passed since the formation of the Empire and the termination of the Jedi Order.
Far out on the Outer Rim world of Tatooine, Obi-Wan Kenobi was inside his cave, dwelling on the events leading up to Execute Order 66.
Dwelling on his one-time friend, Anakin Skywalker – a great hero who fell to the Dark Side.
Although Darth Sidious was responsible for Anakin’s downfall, Obi-Wan felt that he himself, was to blame too.
Yes, Obi-Wan felt responsible – responsible for not standing against the Jedi Council, when it wanted Anakin to spy on Chancellor Palpatine. Responsible for going off to face General Grievous alone – leaving Anakin to his downfall.
There was no turning back though.
Anakin had become Darth Vader.
Suddenly, Obi-Wan heard a soft, gentle voice come out of nowhere. It was a voice, he knew very well.
“Obi-Wan.”
“Qui-Gon.”
“I know what troubles you, my old apprentice.”
“Do you feel too that I am responsible for Anakin’s downfall?”
“No, Obi-Wan, I do not feel that you are responsible.”
“No?”
“Sidious would have turned Anakin to the Darkside anyway.”
“It still haunts me though.”
“Listen to me, Obi-Wan,” Qui-Gon said with a stern edge to his voice.” Times are hard and will get harder, as the Empire grows stronger. You know that.”
“Yes, I know.”
“However, not all is lost. I foresee a great rebellion rising up against the Empire. When the time is right, young Luke Skywalker will join the Rebel Alliance. That boy will play a major part in the fight against the Empire.”
“Luke will have to face the truth about his father and Leia too.”
“Your help will be needed too.”
With that, Qui-Gon’s voice disappeared.

01/16/2026I can imagine after having that chat with Qui-Gon that Obi-Wan felt a bit more at ease. However, it was only the calm before the storm. Great story!
