He took my place?
Today is the day of my trial. Where i will be given either a life sentence or a death penalty. I mean i understand, I have been doing wrong all my life. I had taken innocent lives and done somethings that would disgust you. Thinking back to the times i heard people scream and plead for mercy as i struck them with my sword or strangled them,I had no remorse as i saw the life leave their eyes. I was very notorious and i had been running for years now. It was hard to identify me because i had a disguise on.Oneday, i am an old woman the next, i am a young man trying out for football. It was nice, fun and entertaining while it lasted but now i have to pay for my crimes.
When the police caught me, they rejoiced but they still looked at me with fear in their eyes afraid of what i would do to them. They handcuffed my hands and legs afraid i would pull something last minute. I gave myself up to them willingly without protest because it was hard to be a fugitive, always on the run and never stable. I knew this day would come one day.
The police pushed me inside the car and slammed the door and drove me to jail where i would await my trial. It was a bit peaceful to feel the breeze on my face and see the outside world for a while because i was always anxious i would get caught.
The police opened the gate of my cell and took me forcibly to the court room where people, the press and familes of victims were present. They looked at me scornfully and some even threw things at me. Some tried to attack me or even beat me but luckily, the police stopped them. As i looked into the eyes of the victim's families, they burst into tears and wished death upon me, praying that i would suffer the same fate i put their lost ones through. At this point, i was done. I knew there was no where for me to go. I knew this was the end and if i did die, i was going to hell. I had a Christian family so i knew all about God. I knew that He would disapprove of what i have done. I sighed deeply and sat down as the court was told to arise for the judge's coming.
I stood up when i was told to and the judge gave me my sentencing. " This is one of the worst cases i have ever heard of. I am not listening to any lawyer or nothing. I am immediately making my decision and declaring that you deserve the death penalty and there's that. You have caused people to lose ther lives and been a danger to humanity. There is no hope of you ever changing!" the judge said angrily. " What do you have to say for yourself or to the people here before i finalise everything?"
I put my head down and looked around, with tears in my eyes, there was nothing for me to say. But then, the court doors opened and a man who was so handsome and gentle looking came in. He had soft eyes that would melt your heart looking at them and a smile that made me feel like everything was about to change. He wore the whitest clothes you would ever see and it was so bright that it hurt my eyes to look at them. I had never seen such clothes before. He walked past me as all eyes were on Him. He spoke to the judge in secret and later, my chains were dropped and i was surprised but happy. I was confused as well. What did this man say to have my chains dropped? Just then, the police took the chians from me and chained the man. Everyone gasped audibly and the man took my place. I was supposed to be sentenced, not Him! They sent the man out of the court room and evryone looked flabbergasted. I asked the judge," What happened? Why is He taken away and i am still here?" " He took your place because He loves you and doesn't want you to be condemned to hell. Be grateful and go and sin no more!" the judge advised me." I want to thank Him, what's His name?" i asked. " His name is Jesus Christ! The son of God!" Then he banged the gavel and everyone was dismissed.
I looked around and my heart felt so light and peaceful as i had never felt before. Tears streamed out of my eyes and i was so grateful because i didn't want to die and go to hell.
All this happened two years ago and i now have a family i love and i am so glad that Jesus took my place. I still don't understand why an innocent man will take my place but i am truly eternally grateful!

Hey, everyone! I am glad you read my story. I based this of Jesus Christ and how He did for everyone despite the sins we have committed before Him. He came to the earth and took our place. Before Him we were destined for Hell but now if you accept Him as your Lord and personal Saviour, you are no longer condemned for your sins! Remember that God loves you so much that He sent His Only Son to come and take your place so that you will be set free!
Ps. I don't know how courtrooms work so please don't judge me or criticise me for it!

I liked the story line, but you need to work more on the grammer aspects. I'm looking forward to reading what you will come up with next.
