Terror of the Nupital hour

By Benjamin
Born 2007, M, from Greater-Accra,Ghana, Ghana

Terror of the Nupital hour
I rubbed my eyes and checked the time on my laptop to see that it was 3 in the morning. I knew I had to sleep for tomorrow's presentation but I had to also finish my final report on my history assignment. So I still continued to type. Within a few moments, my prolonged thirst got the best of me, so I gave in to get myself a glass of water to drink. I didn't want to get up so my grandma would know I'm still awake so I take my phone with me and sneaked my way into the kitchen in the dark to get myself at least a gulp.
Halfway through my tiptoes, I find out that there was someone to in the kitchen, and it was my younger sister, Viviana. Apparently, she too woke up to get a glass of milk . Since I started college, we've been quite distant, so I used that moment to catch up with her without disturbing my grandparents. We talked, laughed, and shared gossips.
I then get a call from my dad. When I pick it up, he said he was with Viviana in the hospital to see my mom who was in the hospital after getting into a car accident weeks ago. I then told my dad that he's mistaken and that Viviana was with me at Grandma's place. He whispered to me in a serious tone in his voice." Son, whoever is with you is not your sister, I said your sister is with me." He later on sends a picture of themselves with my mom, awake in the hospital.
I asked to call him back and hung up the call. I then tell my sister beside me that I'm going to piss, so I leave the kitchen to lock myself in the washroom only for me to turn and meet my dog, Pedro , lying dead in my bathtub filled with his blood and some organs from his opened abdomen.
I was petrified at what I saw and washed my face at the sink.
Moments later, the doorknob turns and the thing behind the door starts to knock aggressively.
" Come on, Jonathan" it said in my sister's voice "We were just getting along so well"
I closed my eyes and repeated a couple of Hail Mary's and the knocks stopped. I thought it was all over but in that moment the entity burst through the door and scratched my chest. I clenched my injury and crawled towards my bathtub to look up to see a grey, slim entity, grinning menacingly and rubbing it's sharp claws together.
Just when it opened it's large mouth to engulf me, I woke up and found myself in front of my laptop, still on the part of the essay I stopped at before I decided to quench my thirst. Thinking that it was all a dream, I go to my bathroom instead to rinse my face and continue typing, I looked up to find my reflection grinning with sharp teeth and bloodshot eyes, cackling at me. It then said," You are now in my domain."

This is a well-crafted and terrifying horror story that effectively uses suspense, imagery, and atmosphere to create a sense of unease and fear in the reader !
