Work It Out
"Work is dull, but can be fun"
"Work isn't fun, but it is rewarding"
"We exist to work, but can live without it too"

How often have you heard "Work doesn't define you", or something similar, but so often it's a default conversation starter.

There is a lot of purpose in work, it is a human phenomenon to feel good participating in the world. Being recognised for good work gives us a sense of accomplishment too.

Yet we're so much more than that too. It's important to be involved, but work doesn't have to be our whole identity.

There are things about work we don't like, enough to not want to discuss it. We don't have to be solely known for it either.

Remember the three quoted mantra at the start:
"Work is dull, but can be fun"
"Work isn't fun, but is rewarding"
"We exist to work, but can live without it too"

When discussing work, don't assume that is someones' whole life.
Especially today - with AI, unhelpful job centres, some unaccommodating employers, organizations reposting old jobs for self-serving gains and increased competition, and other factors (such as having a mental, physical, or neurological condition) - this is more true than ever.

I am more than this and so are you!
