Heavenly Signs
Born 1947, M, from Oceanside, United StatesHeavenly Signs
He began finding them a week after his dog, Max, passed. Tiny little silver-colored nuggets that looked a lot like dog droppings but didn’t smell like dog droppings. In fact, they had a kind of cinnamon-like odor to them. Were they the carcasses of some kind of new bug he had never seen before?
He brought samples to the lab where he worked as a chemist, but none of the tests provided a clue to what they consisted of. In fact, their makeup didn’t appear anywhere on the periodic table. Could they be alien in origin? They appeared only in the mornings, just like Max’s droppings when he was alive, which had him thinking about what the vet said as Max was being put down.
“It’s a shame we have to do this, but I truly believe, even in death, Max’s spirit will always be with you.” Were these silver droppings a sign of Max’s spirit being still around? He decided they were, especially after they started showing up on his bed covers where Max used to sleep.
Good morning Max!
