Saving the tombkeeper and Ancient Lost T
Born 1983, M, from Atlanta,Texas, United StatesJayden, her adopted sister Emma, her boyfriend Michael, along with their friends Jay, Hailey, Boze, and Rain, stood inside an old barn filled with computers and consoles. The barn served as the team's command center.
"Now that we have Asterion, Nyxara, and Tharos, we can unlock the next level and continue our quest to stop Mustissac," said Guardian 20276-7. "But before we do, we must save the Ancient Lost Tomb and its Tomb Keepers."
"Save them from what?" Jay asked, wearing a confused expression.
"Take a look at the viewscreen," Guardian 20276-7 replied.
Everyone turned toward the large monitor.
"Hunters... and Collectors," Michael said angrily, clenching his fists as four dune buggies raced across the desert. Two were driven by Hunters, while the other two carried Collectors.
"Hailey and I will handle those Hunters," Boze declared, eager for action.
"Rain and I will deal with the Collectors," Emma said confidently.
"Good luck," Guardian 20276-7 said as the four heroes teleported away.
"Are you ready?" Hailey asked as she and Boze watched the Hunters speeding toward them on their dune buggies.
"I am," Boze replied.
Hailey closed her eyes. The magical bracelet on her wrist began to glow with brilliant light. The radiance surrounded both her and Boze as the wind suddenly roared across the desert.
Within seconds, a massive sandstorm erupted.
The Hunters slammed on their brakes and jumped from their dune buggies as blinding sand swallowed everything around them. Darkness surrounded them. They trembled as the howling wind echoed through the storm.
Then, through the swirling sand, they noticed two glowing lights.
Drawn toward them, the Hunters cautiously walked forward.
Far away, Mustissac sat at a long dining table inside his hidden headquarters, enjoying a lavish lunch while watching his henchmen on a giant viewscreen.
Without warning, the screen went black.
Mustissac froze.
"What is going on?!" he roared.
He grabbed his golden magical staff, the Gildebane, and tapped it against the floor.
Nothing happened.
He struck the floor harder.
Still nothing.
Realizing that his evil magic had been blinded by the power of good, Mustissac slammed his fist onto the wooden table with enough force to rattle the dishes.
"Curse that Guardian and his team of good-doers!" he shouted.
Still blinded by the raging sandstorm, the Hunters continued following the mysterious lights until they finally stood face-to-face with Hailey and Boze.
"The madness ends now," Hailey declared.
Her bracelet shone even brighter than before.
The Hunters suddenly collapsed to the ground unconscious.
Brown, smoky blobs rose from each of their bodies. Floating together, the two masses merged into one larger form. It slowly grew arms and legs. Eyes opened. A mouth stretched across its face.
The grotesque creature descended to the ground before Hailey and Boze.
"That is one ugly creature," Boze muttered.
"I am Mindreaver," the hideous brown being growled.
"Hailey... what is that thing?" Boze asked, unable to hide his horror.
"It is a monster created when the evil magic Mustissac planted inside the Hunters' minds is extracted," Hailey explained. "The darkness has taken on a life of its own."
"So what do we do now?" Boze asked.
Hailey stepped forward, her bracelet still glowing.
"We challenge it to a two-on-one Shadow Game. If we win, Mindreaver will be banished to the Umbral Realm forever."
The creature let out a chilling laugh as shadows gathered around its feet.
"Then let the Shadow Game begin.”
A ring of black flames erupted around Hailey, Boze, and Mindreaver. The desert vanished, replaced by an arena of swirling shadows beneath a crimson sky.
Three stone pedestals rose from the ground.
A deck of glowing cards appeared on each pedestal.
"The Shadow Game shall be decided by cards," Mindreaver growled. "Your souls will be the prize."
Hailey stepped to one pedestal while Boze took the other.
"We duel together," Hailey said.
Boze smiled. "Just like always."
Golden light from Hailey's bracelet flowed into both of their decks.
"Shadow Game... begin!”
Mindreaver drew first.
"I summon Nightmare Devourer in Attack Position!"
A towering beast wrapped in black smoke appeared with glowing crimson eyes.
Nightmare Devourer
ATK: 2500
DEF: 1800
"Then I activate Cloud of Despair, reducing the Attack Points of all your monsters by 500!"
Dark mist spread across the battlefield.
"I end my turn."
Hailey drew.
"I summon Guardian Falcon in Defense Position!"
A majestic silver falcon landed before the team.
Guardian Falcon

DEF: 2200
"I set one card face down."
Boze drew his card.
"I summon Stonehorn Charger!"
A massive rhinoceros armored in crystal charged onto the field.
Stonehorn Charger
ATK: 2300
DEF: 2000
"I'll wait for the right moment."
Mindreaver laughed.
"Your hope is already fading."
On his next turn, Mindreaver summoned Shadow Hydra.
The monster unleashed waves of darkness.
"Nightmare Devourer, attack Stonehorn Charger!"
The two monsters collided.
Stonehorn Charger was destroyed.
Hailey and Boze's Life Points fell to 7800.
"Is that all you've got?" Boze said confidently.
"My turn!" Hailey declared.
She drew and smiled.
“This is exactly what we needed."
"I activate the Spell Card Beacon of Courage!"
Golden pillars of light pierced the darkness.
"All Light monsters gain 1000 Attack Points, and Shadow monsters lose 500 Attack Points."
The battlefield brightened.
"I now summon Radiant Phoenix!"
A magnificent phoenix of golden fire soared into the sky.
Radiant Phoenix
ATK: 2600 → 3600
"Radiant Phoenix, destroy Nightmare Devourer!"
The phoenix released a blazing beam of light.
Nightmare Devourer exploded into black smoke.
Mindreaver's Life Points dropped to 6900.
"My turn!" Boze shouted.
"I activate my face-down Trap Card..."
Team Assault!
"As long as Hailey controls a Light monster, I may Special Summon one monster from my hand."
"I summon Titan Guardian!"
A towering knight clad in shining armor appeared.
Titan Guardian
ATK: 3000
"Now both of our monsters attack together!"
Radiant Phoenix and Titan Guardian charged.
Shadow Hydra was destroyed.
Mindreaver's Life Points dropped again.
LP
Hailey & Boze: 7800
Mindreaver: 4300
The creature snarled.
"You think you've won?"
Dark energy exploded around him.
"I sacrifice my remaining shadows to summon...”
Emperor of Endless Fear!
The giant monster towered over the arena.
Emperor of Endless Fear
ATK: 4000
DEF: 4000
Even Boze looked surprised.
"That's huge..."
Hailey placed a hand on her bracelet.
"It isn't stronger than hope."
The bracelet shone brilliantly.
She drew one final card.
Her eyes widened.
"The legendary card...”
Boze smiled.
"I knew you'd draw it."
Hailey revealed it.
"Spell Card—Light of the Tomb Keepers!"
Ancient symbols covered the battlefield.
"All Light monsters combine their strength into one final attack. Shadow monsters lose every ability granted by evil magic."
Golden chains wrapped around Emperor of Endless Fear.
The monster roared helplessly.
Boze raised his final card.
“And I activate United Guardians!"
Titan Guardian transformed into pure energy, merging with Radiant Phoenix.
The phoenix evolved into an enormous bird of brilliant white and gold.
Celestial Guardian Phoenix
ATK: 6200
"Finish it!" Boze shouted.
Hailey pointed toward Mindreaver.
"Celestial Guardian Phoenix..."
"Final Dawn Strike!”
The phoenix unleashed a massive beam of radiant light that pierced Emperor of Endless Fear.
The monster shattered into thousands of black fragments before exploding into pure light.
The blast continued, striking Mindreaver directly.
Life Points
Hailey & Boze: 7800
Mindreaver: 0
"Impossible!" Mindreaver screamed. "Darkness cannot lose!"
"It already has," Hailey replied.
Golden chains wrapped around Mindreaver as a swirling black portal opened beneath him.
"No! The Umbral Realm cannot have me!”
You were created from stolen darkness," Boze said. "Now you're returning to where you belong."
With one final roar, Mindreaver was pulled into the portal.
The gateway sealed shut and sunlight returned to the desert.
The two Card Hunters lay unconscious, surrounded by an enormous glowing white light. The purple penumbra and black masks vanished, and their eyes returned to normal. The purple aura was replaced by the clothing they had been wearing before they lost their duel to another Card Hunter. They stood, looking around in confusion, just before a burst of magical energy teleported them back to their home village.
Mustissac sat at the long dining table, frustrated by the events that had transpired. Through his dark magic, he knew that Mindreaver had been banished to the Umbral Realm and that his two enslaved Card Hunters had been freed.
A dark silhouette of Hailey appeared before him.
"I warned you we were coming, and this is only the beginning of your downfall," Hailey said.
The silhouette disappeared, leaving Mustissac alone with his anger.
Meanwhile, Hailey collapsed to the ground, exhausted from using both her magic and the Shadow Game. Boze quickly helped her to her feet, and the two were teleported back to the old barn that served as the command center.
Hailey was so weak that Michael and Boze had to support her as she stood.
"Hailey and Boze, congratulations on a job well done," said Guardian 20276-7. "The others have already begun dueling the Collectors. Hailey, because of your bravery, I have prepared something special for you."
Data-G-01 stepped forward carrying a small wooden box. He removed a magical whistle and blew it once.
A blindfold instantly appeared over Hailey's eyes.
He blew the whistle a second time.
The blindfold vanished.
Hailey found herself standing barefoot on a beautiful white-sand beach, dressed in a flowing white dress. Gentle waves rolled onto the shore beneath a warm blue sky.
"What is this? Where am I?" she wondered.
Then she saw Jay.
He was dressed in a tropical button-down shirt and shorts, smiling warmly as he walked toward her.
Hailey slowly realized she was experiencing a dream.
Jay gently took her hand, and together they walked along the shoreline until they reached a picnic waiting for them on the sand. They spent the day talking and laughing together. As daylight faded into evening, they sat close beside one another and watched a brilliant fireworks display light up the night sky.
For a brief moment, all of the battles, danger, and sacrifices faded away.
When the final firework burst across the heavens, the dream dissolved.
Hailey and Jay suddenly found themselves back at the command center.
Rain and Emma had successfully defeated the Collectors and proudly showed everyone the rare cards they had won.
"Thanks to the four of you, the secret ancient lost tomb and the Tomb Keepers are now safe," Guardian 20276-7 said. "Tomorrow, we will unlock the next level.”
