A Moment in Time

This wasn't really a vacation—more of a memorable day trip.

Back in 2017, my former husband and I visited the Scarborough Renaissance Festival in Waxahachie, Texas.

It was a place I had always wanted to experience because I've always loved fantasy—knights, magic, folklore, and the feeling of stepping into another world.

The moment we walked through the gates, it felt as though we had traveled back in time. Many of the fairgoers were dressed in beautiful period costumes, making the festival feel even more immersive. We watched several entertaining shows that had us smiling and laughing throughout the day. We also took plenty of photos of the fairgrounds and even posed with some of the talented costumed performers.

One of my favorite memories was curtsying to one of the performers—something I had always wanted to do. It was such a small moment, but it made me feel as though I were truly part of the Renaissance world.

We enjoyed our first visit so much that we returned a second time, and somehow it was even more magical than the first.

To this day, it remains one of the most enchanting experiences of my life, and it is a memory I will always treasure.

I hope that one day I'll be able to return to the Scarborough Renaissance Festival—or perhaps experience its autumn celebration, Scarborough's Hallow.
