New Beginnings
Born 1983, M, from Atlanta,Texas, United StatesOutside a haunted-looking farmhouse, Boze and Delilah stood beneath the shadow of twisted trees, each gripping a deck of Duel Magic cards as they prepared to begin a double Shadow Game. Across from them stood Tyler and Chris, two members of the infamous Big Seven, whose failed attempt to take over Lorebound Studios with evil counterfeit Duel Magic cards had left them transformed into strange hybrids—half human, half mystical creature.
Tyler stepped forward in a sleek ninja costume, his eyes narrowed with determination as he prepared for the battle ahead. Beside him, Chris looked far less intimidating, wearing an enormous penguin costume complete with a ridiculous top hat and bowtie. Despite the absurd appearance, a dark magical aura surrounded both duelists, proving that their powers were anything but a joke.
The haunted farmhouse trembled as the double Shadow Game began. Boze and Delilah stood side by side, their Duel Magic cards glowing with ancient energy as Tyler and Chris prepared their counterattack.
Tyler moved first, summoning mystical creatures from his deck with the precision of a ninja warrior. Shadows twisted around the battlefield as he launched a series of powerful attacks, while Chris followed with his own strange magic, the oversized penguin costume making his dramatic movements look almost ridiculous. Yet the power behind his cards was undeniable, as the battlefield filled with icy winds and dark illusions.
Boze and Delilah refused to back down. Working together, they combined their strategies, carefully countering Tyler’s stealth tactics and breaking through Chris’s frozen defenses. Their teamwork grew stronger with every turn, their Duel Magic cards shining brighter as they summoned their most powerful creatures.
“You may have gained new forms from dark magic,” Boze declared, “but that doesn’t mean you’ve mastered true Duel Magic.”
With one final coordinated move, Boze and Delilah activated their finishing combo. Their summoned creatures unleashed a wave of magical energy that shattered Tyler and Chris’s defenses. Tyler’s ninja techniques failed, and Chris’s penguin-themed magic collapsed beneath the overwhelming force of their opponents’ strategy.
The Shadow Game reached its conclusion.
Boze and Delilah’s final attack drained the last of Tyler and Chris’s life points. The farmhouse fell silent as the glow from the cards faded.
Tyler and Chris stood frozen, horrified—they knew losing the shadow game meant their souls would be banished to the Umbral Realm for all eternity. Suddenly, a glowing portal opened beneath their feet, and all that remained of their existence were an empty ninja costume and an absurdly oversized penguin outfit lying on the ground.
Boze picked up the ridiculous costumes, and they began walking toward the remains of the old barn. Beside a pile of burnt lumber, they discovered a concrete door leading to an underground bunker.
Delilah pulled it open, revealing a staircase descending deeper underground. As they walked down, they were amazed at what awaited them. The bunker was divided into two sections: one led to the command center, and the other to the living corridor.
Delilah admired the colorful wallpaper and the framed portraits of guardians lining the corridor as they headed to the command center. At the corridor’s end stood a large locked steel door equipped with a handprint scanner. Delilah placed her hand on the device, and the door slid open.
She and Boze stepped inside, and the steel door shut securely behind them.“This is amazing,” Delilah said, fascinated by the many consoles and computers—some running probabilities, others awaiting commands.Rain, Jacob, and Data-G-01 were waiting for them. Soon, Asia and Bridget joined after their reunion with the Shadow Game Deck Master.
Boze placed the ridiculous costumes on a console. Rain searched through them for counterfeit duel magic cards but found only stone tablets etched with strange symbols. Even Asia was surprised—she hadn’t realized that the ancient chant she had recited earlier had transformed every evil, possessed counterfeit card held by the Big Seven and Matthew into stone tablets.
The Time Space Continuum Tube powered up, and the Guardian’s sage-colored face appeared in the tube. “Congratulations on a job well done. Thanks to your efforts, Matthew has taken a major blow, but we must remain vigilant. I am certain that Matthew, with the help of the Gildbane, is already plotting a new plan to capture Bridget, Asia, and their sisters,” said Guardian 20276-7.
“I wish I could meet my other five sisters,” Bridget said.“You will, in due time. But right now, the situation is too dangerous for them to come out of hiding,” replied the Guardian.
“Then why am I here?” Asia asked.“The answer will be revealed in time. With the magic of the sorcerer’s magician that you and Bridget possess, the magic knew it was time for you to meet. It used a dream of three former members—Jayden, Emma, and Hailey,” said Guardian 20276-7.
Bridget and Asia stood frozen, realizing those were the two teenagers and a child from their dream.“Mr. Data, why don’t you show them their new quarters?” said the Guardian.
Data-G-01 led them down a different corridor to another steel door with a handprint scanner. Data-G-01 bypassed the security system and revealed their new living quarters.
Rain, Jacob, Boze, Delilah, Bridget, and Asia were mesmerized by the kitchen area, featuring a large table and marble-topped counters.“Where’s the stove and icebox?” Rain asked.“You don’t need one,” Data-G-01 said, walking over to two devices mounted on the wall. “Who wants something to drink?”“I’d like a glass of water,” Rain replied.“Very well. Computer, water with ice,” said Data-G-01. A glass of water with ice appeared in his hand, and he handed it to Rain.Data-G-01 then approached the second device on the wall. “This is where you order food,” he explained.“Can I try it?” Bridget asked. She walked up to the strange wall-mounted device. “Computer, pepperoni pizza,” she said. A pepperoni pizza appeared in her hand.
Everyone thought the device was incredibly cool and took turns ordering their favorite meals for supper. They sat down together, eating and chatting about things other than Matthew and the Gildbane for the first time in a while.
