I Miss You

I Miss You

Before I start off my story, I need to give a big sigh, yes, I am restless and yes I am missing him. Ok!!!, ‘I miss you’ is all I want to say, and here is my dedication.

Let me begin my story with these words,
‘You always render your shoulders to me when I cry just because you always want me to smile.
You wipe my tears, just because you like me a million times.
You laugh along with me, just because, you want me to be happy.
You smile at my bad jokes, just because, you don't want to put me down.
You always encourage me, just because, you want to keep my spirits high.’

He is the one in a million who inspired me greatly and now I miss him very badly. Everyone out here might ponder who that ‘he’ is. I am not breaking the ice for now. Maybe you all will know at the end.

It all started this way. It was at school, I met him first. (You all need to note something…I was in 6th grade and he in 9th grade.) Now, I need to tell you about him. He is an awesome basketball player and an amazing athlete. His moves are simply marvellous and I bet no one can ever equal him at basketball. Indeed, I am a great fan of him and yes, I don’t have words to describe his talents. (I have told him this many times...I'll even tell him a million times.)

Days passed, and I never cared to speak a word to him.

Years passed, and all I could remember was that, there was a guy at school who could play the game exceptionally. Finally, after completing my high school, I, somehow, managed to get into a renowned college here at Madurai. To my surprise, he was in the same college, and everything I could do was just force a smile on my face every time I looked at him and sometimes not even bothering to smile. I know, that was too much on my part and now I feel ashamed of myself for having behaved like that.

It all happened just like that, just like magic, at a wink of an eye. Yes, we are friends now, no, more than friends, no, even more than that. Now, I should thank facebook for this. Don’t think I am deviating from the topic or beating around the bush. Yes, it’s my utmost pleasure to thank facebook, without which I wouldn’t have even known him. Our relationship has grown very strong and is connected by the tightest bonds on earth. Facebook, being a social networking site, brings people closer- is a fact. And, this is how it brought us closer too!

Facebook chat was another important factor, which bound us closer. Facebook chats slowly turned into mobile texting- nothing but a formal ‘hi’ and other stuff. Gradually, ‘hi’ became ‘hey’ and then ‘hey’ to ‘dei’ (An informal tamil word which is used to call dear ones).

(Facebook and Fate have brought us closer and has made me love him infinite times.)

At last, he completed his undergraduate bachelors degree and luckily he got placed in Chennai. Things went on smoothly, until, July 28th, 2011. Guess, I am not wrong. Yes, how can I forget the day which had brought a great change in my life. It was then; I understood how important our relationship is and how important he is to me. Yes, he is in Chennai now, and I miss him a lot.

I should tell you how much I miss him.

I was once getting drenched in rain. The feeling was awesome and no wonder, I was jumping up and down. I could feel him at each little drop of rain falling on me. The flowers around me opened their multi-hued petals and the birds were chirping to the tune of rain. But, I could see nothing else, but, his face on the smiling flowers yearning for the littlest drop of rain, badly wanting him by my side and nothing but, this is called…. And I am missing him terribly for the love and affection he has for me is as vast as the skies, as wide as the galaxies, as deep as the oceans, and as big as the earth.

Now, let me get back to the story of him getting placed in Chennai. The day had finally come and he had to leave Madurai. He rang up to me telling that he had to board the train to Chennai and that he’d be missing me from the bottom of his heart. I had no other go, but to wish him all the very best for a bright future and success in all his endeavors. Tears poured down heavily, but I had to control my emotions just to keep him cheerful. I could find that there was no response from the other side of the phone and I kept calling out his name. I could then realize that he was crying and I could hear his sobs. I was helpless and burst into tears. Still, I managed to console him, telling him that I am always there for him.

'Maybe this is what is called as Life's Game.
Maybe this is what is called as Fate.
Maybe this is what is called as something Precious.
Maybe this is what is called as a Relationship bigger than Friendship.
Maybe this is what my Life is made of!'

Every time, I hear someone pronounce his name, tears roll down my cheeks, and it brings back the memories we had together.

Though, he is away from me physically, he is very close to me at heart and all I want to say is…, ‘I MISS YOU’
