THE BOYFRIEND AND THE PHONE
M, from Baltimore, Maryland, United StatesTHE BOYFRIEND AND THE PHONE
I was not yet eighteen
as I approached her paradise gates
then the phone rang
when all she had left on
was that bodice
she said
"Shush I gotta take this!"
as she lurched free of
my pawing hunger
the caller was her boyfriend
I could tell from her reaction
that he was accusing her of
screwing around
she earnestly denied it
but he wasn't buying it
so then she started
to cry and plead
as she swore
half dressed on the sofa
I stood and walked to her
and as she continued the
conversation with him
I dropped to my knees
and started kissing
and caressing her
tender regions
I wasn't worried much
about that boyfriend
who by then was
apologizing to her
far away and out of sight
he felt ashamed and contrite
his guilt bled through the line
his tears filled up the phone
they spilled out like a flood
all over this thing called love.
