Case 34 - Not So Tough
Born 1983, M, from Atlanta,Texas, United StatesInspector Tina Bullet came home from grocery shopping. While she was out she bought Dowzer, the robotic police dog, a Cozy Cave Dog Bed. “You have got to be kidding me,” said J.P. as Tina walked by taking the bed to the bedroom. J.P. went into the bedroom to watch and see what happened. Tina set the bed on the floor. “Come here, Dowzer,” said Tina. Dowzer came up to Tina. “What do you think of your new bed?” said Tina. Dowzer barked and then he laid down on the bed. “See, he likes it,” said Tina. J.P. shook his head in disbelief. He wanted to say something but he was afraid it would hurt Tina’s feelings. “Come on, with Dowzer on the floor there is more room for this,” said Tina, taking J.P’s hand and lead him to the bed.
Inspector Rebella Lucas came into the 169th Precinct. Ola motioned for Rebella to come into the dispatch office. There was a young lady sitting beside Ola. “Rebella, this is Daphne Blake, I am training her to be the new weekend day shift dispatcher. Rebella shook Daphne’s hand. While Rebella was in the dispatch office she looked at the dispatcher schedule. “Great, I am down to cover three more weekends,” moaned Rebella.
Rebella was getting ready to walk out out of the dispatch office when she saw J.P. with an aggravated look on his face. “I hope they did not have a fight,” said Rebella. Tina and Dowzer came in behind J.P. “Tina! What happened?” asked Rebella. Tina smiled at her. “He is just mad because I was top cop,” said Tina. She walked down the hall to the detective office. Rebella looked at Ola and Ola looked at Rebella. “What is top cop?” asked Daphne. “You don’t want to know,” said Rebella walking out of the dispatch office. Daphne had a puzzled look on her face. Ola patted her on the shoulder. “I’ll explain it later,” said Ola.
“How long are you going to stay mad because I wounded your pride?” asked Tina to J.P. as they were going down the road. “You did not wound my pride and I am not mad,” said J.P. “Come on macho guy, admit it, you can’t stand it because a poor little girl from the Bronx overpowered you,” said Tina. J.P. laughed. “You did not overpower me, I let you push me down,” said J.P. “Liar!” said Tina.
J.P. noticed a car following him. “Is something wrong?” asked Tina. “Yes, there is this car that has been following us for a while,” said J.P. He made a couple of turns trying to lose the ones following him, but they continued to follow. “They are starting to peeve me off,” said J.P. as he made a u-turn. Tina turned on the dashboard lights as J.P. made another u turn and was now behind the car that was following him. The driver of the car saw J.P. behind him with the lights on, so he started driving faster and faster. J.P. sped up to try to catch up to him. “I’ll call for back-up,” said Tina taking out her cell phone.
Command Officer Rachel McCabe was in the detective office. She had her police radio on and heard the call that J.P. needed back-up. “Rebella, you and Susie go assist J.P.” said Rachel. Dowzer was laying in the corner until Rebella and Susie got out of their chair and started to walk out the door. Dowzer got up and headed for the door to follow them. “Take Dowzer with you,” said Rachel.
The suspects that J.P. was pursuing ran a red light and struck another vehicle. They got out of the car and started running. J.P. and Tina got out of the car and started running after the two suspects. The suspects split up and J.P. followed one while Tina followed the other.
Tina chased the suspect until she got exhausted and her legs started cramping. She stopped running and the suspect thought he was home free. Rebella and Dowzer came up behind Tina who was trying to catch her breath. “Need some help partner?” said Rebella. Tina shook her head yes. Rebella reached down and unhooked the leash from Dowzer’s collar. “Go get em, boy,” said Rebella. Dowzer started running after the suspect.
Dowzer caught up to the suspect and grabbed him by the pants and dragged him to the ground. Rebella and Tina caught up to them. “You want to do the honors?” said Rebella. “You are under arrest,” said Tina pulling out her handcuffs.
Tina was sitting on the couch reading and Dowzer was laying on the floor beside her. They heard J.P. pull up in the driveway. Dowzer stood up and started barking. Tina heard a door close and then another door close. “Thats weird” thought Tina as she was getting off the couch. J.P. was coming up the steps with a robotic dog wearing a pink bow and a grocery sack. Tina opened the door for him. Dowzer saw the robotic dog, barked and started wagging it’s tail. The robotic dog saw Dowzer and started wagging its tail. “Dowzer meet Missy, Missy meet Dowzer,” said J.P. Dowzer and Missy stood looking at each other wagging their tails. J.P. reached in the sack and took out a ball. He sat the ball down in front of Dowzer. Dowzer put the ball in its mouth and walked over to Missy and set the ball down. Dowzer and Missy started playing with the ball. “Awwww!!! Dowzer now has a companion,” said Tina as she watched dowzer and Missy play.
Tina went into the living room. J.P. took out a spoon and joined Tina. “I brought you something,” said J.P., handing Tina the sack. She looked in the sack “Rocky Road! My favorite,” said Tina. He took out the spoon and started feeding Tina ice cream. “Not a word of this to anyone,” said J.P. “I promise, I won’t tell anyone that you are so romantic,” said Tina.
