Once there was a sheep who lived with her 3 little lambs.

One day their mother said, “I am going to market, shut the door; beware of big, bad wolf. Don’t open the door unless you hear my voice.”

“Ok mama,” chimed the 3 lambs. So their mother left to her errand.

As soon as she left, the wolf came and knocked on the door. The lambs did not open so he said, “open the door I am your mummy.”

“No, you are not our mummy, go away.” lambs said.

The wolf was clever so he went and drank a bottle of honey and knocked again. He spoke to the lambs in the sweet voice of sheep- “open little ones I am your mummy.”

The lambs thought their mother had returned and opened the door. The wolf jumped on them and swallowed the lambs. “What tasty lambs!” he said and dozed off under the tree.

After sometime, the mummy sheep returned and saw the door wide open. She looked for her lambs but could not find them. Then she saw the wolf sleeping under the tree.

She brought a big kitchen knife and opened the wolf’s tummy. Out came the 3 lambs. Then mother stitched it back with needle and thread and hurried home. The wolf woke up later with a tummy ache and hunger.
