13 Crocksly Street
Born 1995, F, from Great Britain, United Kingdom29th May 2011, it was getting on towards about 5 o clock when Sam, Harry, Chloe and Emily were trudging towards Emily's house feeling bored and wanting something to do. 'Hey, remember that spooky house down the road people are talking about?' Emily said hesitating as they reached the drive. Sam, Harry and Chloe, not looking very motivated, suddenly turned their heads to look at Emily, now looking more excited then ever. 'We should go! It will be a laugh.' Emily said. 'Yeah, until our names are the headlines in the news. 4 kids get murdered in an abandoned house.' said Sam not liking the idea. 'Oh cmon sam, it will be funny! And it's not like we have anything better to do is it...' Chloe said looking interested in the idea. Harry shrugged and said 'Im up for it.' Emily jumped up with excitement and said 'This will be so cool, we will be like detectives!' She ran to the bottom of the drive and shouted 'Cmon!' The 3 of them caught up with her and they went across the road, round a corner to the end of a street where the house was. It was the last house on the left.
The outside of the house looked a mess, it was abandoned and the windows were smashed with the paint coming off of the bricks. At the side of the house was what looked like a very dirty green house which had plants overgrowing out of the smashed windows right over the fence. In the top left hand window was a rocking chair with a small ragged scary looking doll placed on it. The doll looked as if it was almost watching the 4 children with every move they made, like it wanted to come alive and pounce. The back garden wasn't exactly attractive either, although there was something very odd. Red tape had been draped on the trees like a strawberry sauce on the top of an ice cream. It was not something ordinary, infact it was quite perculiar. The 4 children had never seen anything like it.
'This house is starting to really freak me out guys, I don't think this is a good idea...' Sam said hesitating. 'Oh, don't be such a wimp, Sam. We haven't even seen the inside yet!' Chloe said as she punched him lightly on the arm. 'Who's going in first then?' said Emily. Harry stepped back, 'No way, ladies first.' Emily sighed, 'Ugh, fine, you bunch of wimps! I'll go in first.' 'But, how are you going to get in?' Sam said trying to persuade Emily not to go in. 'Well duh, the ladders!' Emily pointed to the ladders placed against the wall next to the smashed window. 'Ill just use the ladders to climb in.' 'If you're sure, just be careful yeah?' Sam said. 'Yeah yeah, whatever.' Emily took the ladders and placed them in front of the window. After she had made sure they were stable, she started to climb up. She started to investigate the inside of the room. The room consisted of a picture of a church, alot of wood and alot of tools. 'It looks like it's a room to make church furniture or something like that.' The sun was bright which caused Chloe to squint and use her hand to block the sun from her face. She looked up and said 'Well, go in then!' Emily knelt down and jumped into the room. Her landing made a loud bang and caused all the tools to fall from the cabinet on the wall. Sam rushed up the ladders and jumped into the room to see if Emily was okay. 'Em!' Sam shouted. She coughed and and brushed all the dust off her jacket. 'I'm fine, idiot.' She giggled and gave him a light push. 'Aw, were you worried that I'd hurt myself?' 'Pffft, no.' Sam said looking embarrased. 'Well now you're in here you may as well come and look with me' Emily said. She pondered towards the door, looking at every inch of the room. She twisted the door knob but to her surprise it was locked. 'Typical.' She said looking disapointed.
Sam and Emily heard the sound of feet climbing up the ladders. 'Quick, hide behind the drawers!' Emily whispered. They both ran and crouched down behind the drawers. The sound of the ladders was getting closer and closer until suddenly the sound came to a holt. 'Ouch!' Harry said as he banged his head on the top of the window. Emily and Sam peeked over the drawers. 'Oh, its just you! You scared us to death!' Emily said as she stood back up and brushed the dirt off her sleeves. Chloe then popped her head up from the bottom of the window and climbed in. 'Woah, it's colder in here then it is outside!' Chloe said as she zipped her jacket up. 'Right, now we're all in the house let's search for the key to this door!' Emily said.
The 4 of them started to investigate the small box room. The most obvious place to look seemed to be the drawers in the corner, so Chloe opened the drawers to find a large set of keys which looked rusty and looked like they hadn't been used in a while. 'Hey, I think I found them!' Chloe said as she jingled the keys in her hand. The 4 of them crowded around the door as Emily tried all the different keys. She tried every single one of them until finally she tried the last key and it fit perfectly. The key turned and allowed her to twist the door handle. She opened the door cautiously and peeked her head round the corner. It was a narrow hall. You could barely see the carpet, and the carpet you could see looked dirty and dusty. The hall was filled with plastic bags filled with golf balls. In fact, the hall was filled with the most bags of golf balls you would ever see in your whole life. There was also a lawn mower which looked like it was broken anyway. Besides the random objects which were lying in the hall, there was an ordinary looking chest of drawers in the middle of the room which looked like it was full of newspaper articles and photo's. Emily walked towards it noticing the fact that it was full of paperwork. 'Hey guys, come and look at this,' she said investigating it. The 3 of them walked up towards it. Harry picked up one of the newspapers. The headline was '24 Year Old, Richard Milne Missing' the date on the newspaper was 13th September 2007. Harry played the name over and over in his head. He started to remember the name being on the news. The thought then sprung to his mind. 'I remember this being on the news, it was my Dad's friends son that went missing!' 'Yeah, I remember that too, it was all over the news!' Chloe said. 'Why would this still be here? The date of it is 5 years ago!' Emily said looking puzzled. 'Maybe the guy who lived here liked to collect newspapers?' Sam said. Harry, Chloe and Emily looked at Sam like he was stupid. 'Seriously Sam, who does that?' Harry said frowning. He shrugged and said 'I dunno, it was just a suggestion!' They all sighed and carried on looking through the papers. Chloe picked up another newspaper dated 4th March 2009. The headline was 'Have you seen this girl?' and below was a picture of a girl which looked no older than 20. Emily picked up a piece of paper which had printed across it 'Melanie Cruford, missing. Reward: £500.' Harry opened the drawers and suddenly newspapers and pieces of paper which said 'Missing' poured out all over the floor, drowning the 4 childrens feet. 'Okay, this is really weird!' Sam said stepping back against the wall. Emily picked up one of the newspapers. The date was 25th May 2011. It said 'Lucy Dodgson, 23 years old missing from Humberston' Emily looked at the date and stared shocked. 'Guys, look at this...' she said still staring at the date. 'What is it?' Harry said as he peered over to look at the newpaper. 'Look at the date, this was 4 days ago' Emily said, her voice sounding uneasy. Harry looked in shock. Emily whispered 'Get out..now' and with that the 4 ran to the window, climbed down the ladders and sprinted as fast as they could down the road, round the corner and back to Emilys house.
They stopped to catch their breath. 'Oh my dear God, remind me never ever to go in that house again!' Chloe said sounding worn out. 'Second that!' said Harry kneeling down catching his breath back. 'Look at the time! I've gotta be in by 8, I'll see you guys tomorrow' and with that Sam carried on sprinting down the street. 'Yeah same actually! I'll text you tomorrow' said Chloe as she jogged down the street. 'Wait up Chlo!' Harry said as he caught up with Chloe. 'Cya then!' said Emily. Emily walked up the drive, opened the door and went in her house.
The next morning, the 4 of them met up outside Emily's at the normal time. It was the last day of the summer holidays. 'I swear, there was something really weird about that house yesterday' Chloe said. 'Yeah there was, I still want to find out more though!' Emily said. 'Are you crazy? We could have died in there!' Sam said looking shocked. 'Well, if you guys don't wanna come with me then i'll just go on my own!' She stormed out of the drive, walked across the road, went round the corner and down to the end of the street where the house was. She walked down the driveway cautiously, looking to see if anyone was there. She got to the front of the house. The windows were all boarded up.
