Case 41 - Justice Hall Manor
Born 1983, M, from Atlanta,Texas, United StatesSqueaks, Brandon Bobel’s former butler, entered the 169th Precinct. He stopped at the dispatch office. “May I help you?” asked Ola, the day shift dispatcher. Squeaks reached in his pocket and pulled out a piece of paper with a telephone number on it. “Would you please give this to Rebella Howard,” said Squeaks. Ola took the piece of paper. “She has not come in yet, but McCabe and Tina Bullet are here if you want to speak to someone in the Special Investigation Division,” said Ola. “Oh no, I don’t need to talk to anyone, I just need Rebella to call the number on that piece of paper,” said Squeaks turning around to leave. He quickly left the precinct. “I wish someone would tell me who that odd little man is,” said Ola to herself as she went back into the radio room.
Inspector Rebella Lucas came into the dispatch office. “Any calls holding?” asked Rebella. Ola picked up the piece of paper as she left the radio room and came into the dispatch office. “This odd little man came by and gave me a piece of paper with a telephone number on it and wanted you to call,” said Ola handing Rebella the piece of paper. “What did this odd little man look like?” asked Rebella. Ola started describing Squeaks. “I know who that is,” said Rebella. “Who is it?” asked Ola. “His name is Squeaks. He used to be Brandon Bobel’s butler,” said Rebella. Ola thought for a moment. “Are we talking about the one that use to be New York City’s largest crime kingpin?” asked Ola. “The one and only,” said Rebella walking out of the dispatch office.
As Rebella was walking down the hall she looked at the number on the piece of paper. She recognized the telephone number. “That’s Constantine Saunders,” said Rebella. She sat down on the bench outside the detective office and took out her cell phone and called Constantine. “What do you want creep?” asked Rebella. “I have business to discuss, meet me at the old Waterfront Power Plant in thirty minutes,” said Constantine disconnecting the call.
“Creep,” said Rebella aloud, putting her cell phone in her pocket. “Who’s a creep?” asked Inspector Tina Bullet, opening the door to the detective office. “A complaint I got to talk to,” said Rebella. Rebella knew that Tina had a big mouth and she would either tell Rachel McCabe or J.P. Bullet that she met someone outside the 169th Precinct jurisdiction boundaries, so she decided to let Tina go with her. “Are you busy?” asked Rebella. “No,” said Tina. “Do you want to come along?” asked Rebella. “Let me get my jacket,” said Tina stepping back into the detective office.
Rebella and Tina went to the old Waterfront Power Plant to meet Constantine Saunders. They entered the old power plant and met Constantine. “Alright, I am here, what do you want, you rat?” asked Rebella. “I thought you would come alone,” said Constantine. “When you hung up the phone on me I did not know what to expect, so I brought backup,” said Rebella getting in Constantine's face. “I told you I had business to discuss with you. Don’t you trust me anymore?” asked Constantine. “I trust you about like I trust a snake. Now let's get down to business,” said Rebella. Constantine stuck his hand in his suit. Tina was getting uncomfortable and put her hand on the grips of her gun. Constantine chuckled as he pulled out an envelope and handed it to Rebella. “What is this?” asked Rebella. “Read it,” said Constantine. Rebella opened the envelope. Tina looked over her shoulder. “This says there is a crime convention being held at the Justice Hall Manor and it is dated for last week,” said Rebella. “What’s the matter, you got the invitation too late and you want them arrested?” said Tina giggling. “No, Barney, Edmund, and Ted went and have not been seen since,” said Constantine. “We’ll look into it,” said Rebella turning around and walking off. Tina followed her back to her car.
“Where are we going?” asked Tina as Rebella was driving down the road. “We are going to Justice Hall Manor. The crooks have something planned and we are going to stop it,” said Rebella.
James Vargus, dressed as a judge, entered the basement where Rebella, Tina, and the three crooks were being held captive. “Rebella Lucas, I find you guilty of theft and sentence you to a life of confinement. Tina Bullet, I find you guilty of helping a fugitive, you are also sentenced to a life of confinement,” said James. He left the basement and locked the door on his way out.
Command Officer, Rachel, entered the detective office. “Rebella and Tina have been missing all day. I just checked with Ola and they have not checked in anywhere. We are going to have to start looking for them, but I don’t know where to start,” said Rebella. “I will tell you exactly where to start,” said Constantine Saunders, entering the detective office. “Where is that?” asked Rachel, suspicious of Constantine. “Justice Hall Manor. Three of my boys went there Saturday evening and they have not been seen since. I talked to Rebella and Tina this morning and they were going to look into it,” said Constantine. He turned around and left the detective office before anybody could ask him any questions. “Justice Hall Manor is not in our jurisdiction,” said Inspector Susie Young. “To heck with Jurisdictions! I could have two officers in trouble,” said Rachel, opening a drawer and taking out her service revolver. “J.P., Harvey, you come with me. Susie, you are in charge until I get back,” said Rachel.
Everyone except Rebella was sitting on the floor up against the wall. She was pacing the floor trying to figure out a way to escape. Then she got an idea. “Does anyone have a credit card?” asked Rebella. “I do, but it’s probably been cancelled already. I stole it Friday,” said Barney. “Shut up idiot!” said Ted. Barney handed Rebella the credit card. Rebella started picking the lock with the credit card. “I think I got it,” said Rebella, opening the door. “Alright! Lets go get Vargas,” said Tina. They left the basement.
Rachel, Harvey, and J.P. were getting out of the car at Justice Hall Manor, when Captain Baldwin, Patrick O’Malley, and Stanley Hyde from the 467th Precinct pulled up. “Need a hand,” said Captain Baldwin. They all drew their service revolver and approached the front door. J.P., Harvey, and Patrick got on one side of the door. Rachel, Patrick, and Captain Baldwin got on the other side. “Ok, Stanley, we are in position,” said Captain Baldwin. Stanley made entry into Justice Hall Manor. The others followed him in. James Vargas was taken into custody without incident.
James Vargas was found guilty on five counts of kidnapping and was sentenced to life in prison.
