Halloween Night

We heard a noise, coming from upstairs. We were all afraid, but went anyway to check and there were cobwebs everywhere. The noise was from a little girl crying. We went closer and then all of a sudden she screamed. She told us to leave the house, we didn't understand what she was talking about, and that's when we heard footsteps of someone. Laura suggested that we hide and that's what we did and suddenly the little girl disappeared! We heard someone saying "I'm coming for you, you can't hide from me!" As soon as the man turned the other way we ran up the stairs and hid inside one of the bedrooms. We heard footsteps again. I told Laura and Dena that we had to get out of the place as it was getting really late. We were too scared to move, all of us stayed in that room till we saw lights coming from the windows and knew it was dawn. We went down the stairs without making any noise and walked out the front door super quick. It was great being out of that house and we were all so happy. We heard the police car and there were three other cars behind it and we knew that our parents had found us. We told them that we were out trekking, took a short cut, got lost and spent the night in the house. Our parents were disappointed, but glad that we were safe. An officer told us that we shouldn't wander around like that because we could have got hurt and he told us a story that long time ago, a little girl was killed by her step dad in that house which we had spent the night in! We didn't say anything else and I apologized to my friends for what happened and we were ready to get out of that place. As we were leaving, I looked at the house one more time and you won't believe who was waving at me....the little girl! I couldn’t wait to get home and sleep in my soft bed.
