There is a man, his name is Charlie, or that’s what everyone
calls him, no one really knows his name. All they really know is
that 10-years-ago he came to this town a poor 12-year-old
orphan. So a family took him in and raised him as their own.
Now he is going to tell his story.

“I was 12-years-old when my father died. I remember
my old town, the streets, the shops, and the people like it was
yesterday. The day he died, well it was February 14, 1970.
Valentines day, my mother was heart broken,” he said. Charlie
talked about how the evening after his father’s funeral went.
“After the funeral I remember running into the living room, my
suit ruined from running though a muddy field. But I didn’t
care, all I wanted was my Dad back.” Charlie said through tears.

“I remember hearing a baseball game on the radio, it was
the Red socks v. the Cubs. And the Read Socks won,” laughed
Charlie. “Funny how easy it is to remember the most minute
Details,” then he continued. “I remember a strange man
Sitting with my mother. I think he was the pastor of our
church,” “I still remember my mom looking towards me as
Though I was the Perkins boy come to paint the shed,” cried
Charlie.

“Whose the Perkins boy?” asked little Charlotte.
