There was a town of marshmallows. All the marshmallows were happy in their gingerbread town with little gumdrop trees and gummy animals. There was once a little marshmallow named Tony. He loved his parents and his sisters, Amanda who was 6, and Gaby who was 2. Every day, the marshmallow family got 4 meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. Dessert was always 30 minutes after dinner to let the food go down. Tony’s parents always go to their room 10 minutes after dinner. Dessert for marshmallows was always 6 sprinkles.
“Don’t take more than 6 sprinkles! Or else your stomach will hurt!” his mom always said.
But Tony didn’t listen that time. He ate 20 sprinkles! The next day, his stomach did hurt. In fact, it hurt a lot! When his mom found all those sprinkles were missing from the purple sprinkle jar, Tony blamed it on Amanda, and she got in big trouble. He started feeling a big ball of guilt growing in his throat. The ball kept getting bigger and bigger until Tony thought that he couldn’t handle it anymore.
Until he finally called his family to the living room and told them, “I took the sprinkles, not Amanda! I should be the one in trouble! And my stomach hurts and I have this big ball in my throat that won’t go away!” By then, he was blubbering and crying.
Finally his mom said something. “I’m glad you told us the truth. But you shouldn’t lie. I’ll get you some medicine for your stomach. But you still should be punished for your actions. So for that you must be grounded. No sprinkles, T.V., IPod, or video games for two weeks. I’m very disappointed in you. Now apologize to your sister and please go to your room.”
Tony did as he was told. He said sorry to Amanda, gave his mom his IPod, and went to his room.
But there was one thing his mom said that kept going through his mind.
“I’m very disappointed in you.” “I’m very disappointed in you.” “I’m very disappointed in you.”
Tony decided that he would never steal again.
