Ghost Assistant I

Ghost Assistant I(Jessica H.) I sat on the branch of the tallest oak tree in Crescent Forest and dangled my legs. It was midnight, and I had slipped out of the house ‘cause I couldn’t stand my mom. She was arguing with Dad on the phone, because Dad wouldn’t take me for the weekend. Mom and Dad were divorced, so they took turns taking care of me.

Suddenly, a cold feeling chilled my spine. I froze, as if something had deliberately did it to me. But I was wearing a hoodie and jeans. What more could happen? Then, in the moonlight, an outline of a familiar girl appeared in front of me, floating in mid-air. It was a ghost!

“Hey Stacy, don’t be afraid. I’m Alex Russo’s ghost,” the ghost girl said softly, with a melodic sound in her voice. I still remained frozen in shock. “Alex Russo, from Wizards of Waverly Place?” I managed weakly. Alex Russo was only a character from the movie, portrayed by Selena Gomez.

“Yeah, but I’m the real Alex Russo. The movie exists in real life, y’know. But I need your help,” Alex begged. I stared at her wavy brown hair. Like the girl in the movie, she wore boots and jeans. I agreed to help her.

“Ok, look. I’m looking for a charm bracelet’s charms. The charms are also the source of life on Earth. So far, I’ve detected that they’re somewhere around this community. I have the bracelet with me, but the charms should be in a really old house.” Alex said and took a deep breath.

“Isn’t Harper supposed to help you?” I asked, nervous that I was doing a ghost a favor.

“Ugh. I broke up with her centuries ago, she was so annoying. I fixed Stevie and became friends with her. Are you going to help me or not?” She rolled her eyes.

“Ok, ok. I’ll just start researching. Why are you choosing me to do this?” I questioned.

“Because you’re half-vampire and half-werewolf. People like you are really rare. Y’know, when a vampire bites a werewolf, the werewolf turns into a normal wolf. And when a werewolf scratches a vampire, the vampire loses its powers. That’s why it’s almost impossible for people to become half-vampire and half-werewolf.”

I gasped. That would explain why I was really flexible, why I hated garlic and why when I was angry, my back would grow random hairs. When I wanted to ask for more information, Alex had already disappeared.
