View Author Profile

In the land of the breed "cale", where the gypsies lived near Spain, a couple of gypsies, a man and a woman, little is remembered of them, we do not know their names, but the story is that one day where darkness fell on the land and hunger became unbearable, men and women sold all they had to foreign men, northern nomads. That couple had nothing and they were much hungry, so the man decided to sell his wife, because women were treated as things, she could not refuse and before leaving the man said to her:

-I will give you all I possess because everything that I have is yours - He said when she was him giving the money that was earned by selling.
-You know well that if I did not do it, we both would die, and this way you will live, but I will die, giving the bread that feeds my body and letting you go, who are the voice that feeds my soul.

She was sold to a man who decided to leave Europe and arrive in South America; he was dedicated to prostitute women and in those countries would probably have hundreds of buyers. years and years passed, and many men too. But in the middle of the sad misery the woman became the favorite of all prostitutes, her great beauty and obedience helped him win two slaves in his service. The man had the objective to go to all the countries of this continent and go to U.S., where people used to say that everything was better.

That night that all changed. they arrived in Guajira, Colombia, there a man of the land bought that woman, but days later she realized she had stayed pregnant because she had become immune to the herbs that she took as a contraceptive. but the night that they were to leave the Colombian coast that country's government found that illegal group and she was able to escape with his two slaves. they decided to continue with their plans to leave the land in a ship that crossed central Caribbean islands and finally ended on U.S.. the months passed and a beautiful girl was born. she had beautiful black eyes and long eyelashes. she named her Americus, by birth in no man's land at sea American international. But the woman knew that she could only offer pain and hunger and the best option was selling her as her husband did so many years ago.

After a week they arrived in Texas and began to walk to dry land and after a time one day, where the sun bathed the sand, they met a group of two men and a woman. They had beautiful hair and pale skin and white dresses with those strange signs that the woman had seen: the signs of god. They were face to face with those unknown:

-Give me everything that you have - Said one of the slaves of the women.
- We only have our own life - Said the white-skinned woman while looking at the cloth that hung from the neck of the cale woman.
- But you take something more precious. What it is? – Asked the white woman.

The cale woman realized that this was the opportunity to leave her baby in good hands and said:
- $ 3,073 is the price-
The white woman said to her:
- So shall it be.-

She gave her the baby and told her everything that she needed to know. The white woman took the little girl to her home with her husband and four other children. she registered the baby as a Colombian because she had been born in the no man's land, but she also was born in her heart that was Colombian.
