Wake Up in the Morning Feeling Like....Who?
Born 1995, M, from Plantation, Florida, United StatesWho am I? Seriously, who am I? Who am I! I woke up in a bed, in an odd room and I can’t remember who I am. You want me to tell you everything I know and saw? (pause) Fine, I will. The walls were covered in soda signs, movie/music posters, and old ads from old magazines. Also, there were three framed note cards on the wall, which I found to be peculiar. I don’t exactly remember what was written on the notecards, but it was something positive. Three shelves rested on three of the walls. On top of the shelves were coke and soda paraphernalia. Why is this relevant? Shouldn’t we try to figure out who I am? (pause) Okay, I’ll continue if you insist. Well, I was astonished by everything I saw. I don’t remember ever being there before I woke up. In addition, I didn’t know where I was! I walked out of the room and entered a room on the left. It must have been a bathroom, a messy one at best. I walked in front of the mirror, I wanted to know what I looked like.
I took a good look at myself in the mirror. My hair was very messy and it looked as though I picked a fight with the bed I was in. I walked back to that room. I took another look around. I saw antique swords and valuable, old American coins. “Am I in a museum?” I said to myself. But what kind of museum has a bed in it? This is ridiculous! I told you I don’t remember who I am! Why are you sitting there just asking me what I saw?!? You don’t seem concerned at all! (pause) Alright, I’ll continue...So there I was, in this mysterious room. I didn’t know anything that was going on, which is pretty scary. I looked around one last time. This time, I saw a mirror designed for little kids. I couldn’t understand why it would be in this room, it didn’t fit in. Is it a sentimental piece of furniture? I don’t know. It had trucks on it and the word...what was it...Alex?
What’s an “Alex?” I don’t know...I walked out of the hallway and into a living room. There was a piece of furniture immediately on my right. I looked at it and admired its beauty. There was a sticky note on top of it. For some reason, I thought it was important. I picked it up and read it. What did it say? I’m starting to forget again. Something about grocery shopping, love, and that word Alex. Alex, what a funny word.
Wait, hold on a second. (pause) Shhhh be quite! I can’t think to myself when you are scribbling something down on that note pad of yours. (pause) I remember! Yes, I remember! My name is Alexander Harris Slotkin! I love to collect things like Coca-Cola and that is my room! That was me in the bathroom mirror! That was my name on my old mirror! Those notecards, oh those notecards! Three of my friends wrote on them writing about how nice I am and what they like the most about me! Yes! Thank you so much, I owe you one doc.
